Retention Marketing Specialist I

Role Description The Retention Marketing Specialist owns the day-to-day execution of email and SMS production for our clients. This includes: - Project management - Content planning - Copy and creative briefs - HTML builds - QA - Scheduling You will manage end-to-end production and keep timelines on track across design, strategy, and client teams. You will work closely with a Retention Marketing Strategist to support retention strategy, reporting, and ongoing optimization. If you enjoy organized workflows, sharp deadlines, clean builds, and improving the customer journey through thoughtful messaging, you will do well here. What You Will Do: - Manage the full production process for email campaigns and automated flows - Build emails in Klaviyo or similar ESPs - Write on-brand copy - Create clear briefs for the design team - QA content and logic - Schedule deployments - Maintain the monthly content calendar - Drive timelines with clients - Ensure all assets and approvals stay on track - Support the Retention Marketing Strategist by pulling performance data, analyzing results, and developing recommendations - Build automated workflows, segmentation, and list logic - Maintain list hygiene - Work confidently with Shopify apps such as Yotpo, Loyalty Lion, JustUno, and Privy Based on our projected customer base growth, we foresee the need for a Retention Marketing Specialist within the next 2-4 months to ensure we can effectively manage and nurture our expanding user community. Qualifications - 2 years of experience in retention marketing, specifically across email, SMS, CRM, or loyalty programs - Hands-on experience with an Email Service Platform (ESP), with a strong preference for Klaviyo - Strong copywriting skills for direct-to-consumer (DTC) e-commerce, with the ability to adapt tone and style to match different client brands - A solid understanding of email analytics and the ability to translate data insights into actionable strategy - Clear understanding of the difference between marketing campaigns and automated flows, and knowing when to deploy each - Proficiency in building segmented customer lists using behavioral and transactional data - Experience working within Shopify or directly supporting Shopify-based clients - A proactive, organized approach, with the ability to think through the entire customer journey and work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative team Requirements - Resume and responses must be in English.
