Job Description

Developer Advocate

Identity Digital

Summary / Objective IDIL is building DNS-native identity infrastructure for AI agents and other non-human identities: a durable, governance-backed domain name that serves as an agent's foundational identity. This is a founding role on the DNSid rollout team. The Developer Advocate builds the developer community, the advocacy content, and the integration ecosystem largely from scratch, at a stage where the specification is still evolving and the developer audience is still forming. The Developer Advocate serves as the public face of DNSid to developers, demonstrating its purpose, importance, and usage through talks, tutorials, demos, and direct engagement wherever developers build. This role writes and ships code, contributes to the open-source SDKs and reference implementations, and feeds insights gained from the community back into the product roadmap. The Developer Advocate will partner closely with the SDK and Integrations Engineers and Technical Writers. The Developer Advocate reports to the Director, Software Engineering. What You'll Do - Create educational video content: screencasts, short-form walkthroughs, and voiceover explainers that take a developer from first install through a working agent deployment and the operational patterns that follow - Write technical blog posts, integration tutorials, and conceptual explainers that make the DNSid trust model and lifecycle accessible to developers whatever their background - Speak at conferences and developer events across the AI, platform-engineering, and identity ecosystems - Engage where AI-agent developers work: GitHub issues, discussions, and PRs, plus Discord and the relevant social channels, as a consistent and technically credible presence - Ship developer tooling (skills, plugins, AI-native extensions) that makes DNSid easier to adopt inside the workflows developers already use - Run hackathons, workshops, and office hours that give developers hands-on experience with the DNSid SDKs and integrations - Synthesize developer feedback from support threads, GitHub, and conversations into structured input that shapes the SDK roadmap and documentation priorities - Track the agent-framework ecosystem and recommend where advocacy should focus next as new frameworks and standards emerge - Help build and maintain a portfolio of end-to-end DNSid demos integrated with the agent frameworks developers actually use, such as LangChain, CrewAI, the Microsoft Agent Framework, LlamaIndex, the OpenAI Agents SDK, MCP servers, and A2A implementations - Contribute code upstream: to the open-source DNSid SDKs and reference implementations, and to the third-party agent frameworks and tools in the ecosystem, landing native DNSid support and advocating for its adoption where developers already build - Actively models and promotes Identity Digital's core values through day-to-day interactions, behaviors, and decision-making - Other duties as assigned Who You Are / What You Bring - 5+ years in developer advocacy, developer relations, or a software-engineering role with significant external-facing technical communication - Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience - Able to write production-quality code in at least two of TypeScript, Python, or Go, with the ability to build demos independently and debug them during live presentations. - Direct experience working with AI agent frameworks, including a deep understanding of agent loop structures and failure points gained from hands-on work in frameworks like LangChain, CrewAI, or the Microsoft Agent Framework. - A demonstrated track record of technical public speaking (conference talks, workshop facilitation, or webinars) with full ownership of both technical content and delivery. - Strong technical writing skills, with a portfolio of blog posts, tutorials, or documentation that explains complex protocols or APIs to a developer audience - An active, visible presence in at least one developer community (AI/ML, platform engineering, identity, or open source) - Experience with MCP, A2A, or comparable multi-agent systems, or a demonstrated ability to get up to speed on an evolving specification quickly - Comfortable on camera and doing voiceover, with the screen presence to make educational video that developers actually watch through - Comfortable in front of mixed audiences, from practitioners who want working code to architects evaluating the standard - Ability to travel as needed - Ability to work across time zones as part of a global organization as needed Preferred Qualifications - A strong eye for video production: lighting, composition, and storytelling that lifts educational content above a basic screencast - Familiarity with DNS fundamentals (TXT records, FQDNs, TTLs, zone delegation) sufficient to explain DNSid's anchoring model clearly and field developer questions accurately - Understanding of identity and authentication protocols (OAuth 2.0, OIDC, mTLS, SPIFFE) sufficient to explain where DNSid fits in the stack. - Prior experience at a developer platform, identity provider, or infrastructure company where developers were the primary customer - A track record of growing a developer community around a new open standard or emerging protocol - Familiarity with the IETF standards process, DNS operator ecosystems, or the W3C DID and Verifiable Credentials landscape - An existing network in the developer community, especially AI-agent Location: Remote This position is open to candidates residing in the following states only: AZ, CA, CO, DE, MD, MA, MO, NJ, NV, NY, NC, OR, OK, PA, SC, TX, UT, VA, and WA.
