Role Description The Lucky Foundation is seeking an education expert to join our Advisory Board as the Director of Special Programs. The Director of Special Programs will be part of the Leadership Committee of the Advisory Committee, a position which comes with more responsibilities than joining as a member. The Director of Special Programs position will be responsible for providing direction, guidance, and leadership. The Educational Preparedness Director plays a crucial role in ensuring individuals supported by The Lucky Foundation are well-prepared for educational pursuits. This individual will develop and implement initiatives aimed at equipping students with the necessary tools, resources, and guidance to excel in their educational journeys. The Educational Preparedness Director will collaborate with internal teams, educational institutions, and community partners to deliver impactful programs. Responsibilities - Develop and implement strategies to enhance educational preparedness among program participants. - Identify and collaborate with educational institutions, schools, and community organizations to deliver educational preparedness programs. - Create resources and materials to support students in their academic pursuits, including study guides, workshops, and tutoring programs. - Coordinate college and career readiness initiatives, such as college fairs, workshops, and scholarship application assistance. - Provide guidance and mentorship to students on academic planning, course selection, and college admissions processes. - Collaborate with scholarship coordinators and financial aid directors to ensure students have access to comprehensive support. - Monitor program outcomes and evaluate the effectiveness of educational preparedness initiatives. - Develop and maintain relationships with educators, guidance counselors, and other educational professionals. - Stay updated on best practices, trends, and research in the field of educational preparedness. - Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications team to promote educational preparedness programs. - Assist in fundraising efforts, including grant writing and donor cultivation. - All other duties and responsibilities as needed. • Provide oversight claims advocacy of Management and Professional Liability excess claims. The first level claims managers will be in-house MGA or Programs claims teams or Third-Party Administrators. • Analyze forms, policies, endorsements, special handling instructions and other pertinent documents in order to validate coverage. • Manage claims in litigation with an eye toward protection of reputational risk and prevention of bad faith allegations. Possess a comfort level with fast-paced and time sensitive claim negotiation. • Approve claims according to authority, company rules, and/or local regulatory requirements • Advise the business on claims trends and loss mitigation (Program Management, Underwriting, Legal, Compliance, Risk, Finance and Actuarial functions). • Possess a deep understanding of reserving accuracy and estimating with varying degrees of information available. • Lead cultural resources projects, business development opportunities and provide successful and independent management of archaeological and historic resources projects, including direction of field studies and assembly, supervision and direction of field teams. • Lead/Principal investigator for cultural resources projects include performing research, archaeological fieldwork surveys, monitoring, testing, and data recovery projects, historical research, preservation activities, report preparation, site forms and curation of archaeological artifacts. • Coordinate project mobilization and demobilization to project sites. • Provide successful and independent management of archaeological and historic resources projects, including direction of field studies and assembly, supervision, and direction of field teams. • Support Section 106 and Section 110 of the NHPA, including analysis, technical studies and project permitting for a wide variety of private, federal, state and local government clients and tribal entities. • Mentor and provide technical and operations resources for staff and project managers and supervise cultural staff. • Lead technical and strategy elements of proposal development including scope, schedule and budget. • Meeting project scope, schedule, and budget obligations for project management tasks. • Ensure the delivery of high-quality technical products through implementation of independent and quality review protocols.
