AVP, Campaign Operations
Synchrony
• Manage marketing campaign data file processing and execution for SYF clients, ensuring accurate targeting, suppression, and compliant outputs • Collaborate with stakeholders on customer targeting strategy and segmentation, while ensuring data privacy, consent, governance, and records retention requirements are met • Provide subject matter expertise in SYF data warehouses, segmentation reporting, suppression exclusions, and file outputs • Work with cross-functional teams to support data collection and performance measurement, escalating risks/issues as needed and contributing to analysis on priority projects • Build and execute omnichannel journeys in SFMC Journey Builder (entry sources, decision/engagement splits, waits, exits) aligned to strategy, eligibility rules, and compliance • Execute email campaigns in Email Studio (setup, content assembly, test sends, QA, deployment) adhering to brand, legal, and compliance guidelines • Manage audiences and data in SFMC using Data Extensions (create/maintain, relationships, exclusions) and segmentation using SQL Query Activities/filters/suppression rules • Develop and operate repeatable automations in Automation Studio (imports/exports, SQL automations, extracts, standardized end-to-end campaign workflows) • Support integrations and ingestion methods (SFTP, API triggers via REST/SOAP, event-based entry) and coordinate execution readiness with upstream/downstream partners • Monitor and troubleshoot sends/journeys/automations and maintain SFMC governance (subscriber/contact concepts, publication lists, send classifications, consent, suppression, retention) with audit-ready documentation • Work with cross-functional teams to facilitate the data collection and performance measurement process and escalates issues as necessary and make contributions to research and analyses on priority projects within established guidelines.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of experience in Campaign Operations with strong client/customer/vendor relationship management OR in lieu of degree 6+ years of relevant experience
- Strong understanding of credit card/credit business market, specifically in campaign operations
- 4+ years of database marketing experience within financial services focusing on lifecycle/acquisition management
- Experience with CRM tools such as SAS CI / Unica / Adobe etc.
- Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) experience (working knowledge required): Email Studio, Journey Builder, Automation Studio; Data Extensions, SQL Query Activities, suppression/exclusions; basic Mobile Studio exposure preferred
- Experience with Salesforce Data Cloud (D360) and/or enterprise CDPs, including identity resolution, profile/attribute management, segmentation, and activation to downstream channels (e.g., SFMC)
- Working knowledge of D360 + SFMC connectivity (segment publishing/activation, event-based triggers, data refresh cadence) and data ingestion patterns (batch/SFTP, APIs, streaming/event)
- Knowledge of SOAP APIs, REST APIs, real-time triggers, real-time profiles, and push notification concepts
- Experience setting up personalized campaigns delivered through digital channels
- Working understanding of Agile methodology
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively and influence stakeholders at multiple levels
- Strong knowledge of SQL, UNIX, Excel; SAS knowledge preferred
- Experience with analytics languages/platforms is a plus (Python, Hadoop etc.)
- Proven organizational and timeline management skills; ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
