Role Description Amerisure is currently recruiting for a Managing Attorney – Staff Counsel, General & Auto Liability. This role will help set up our new office in Tampa, Florida. Looking for someone with a strong civil litigation background handling complex claims. Role Description Within the Office of the General Counsel, will be responsible to provide legal and commercial counsel for a line of business and/or staff group. This position will serve as primary legal support for a line of business and/or staff group and its respective senior management teams. - May provide guidance and support within the following legal areas: - General corporate matters, including corporate organization - Compliance - Drafting transactional documents - License agreements - Employment law - Immigration law - Data privacy - Risk management asset-backed financing - Contract management - Conducts research, interprets new as well as existing laws and regulations directly impacting the organization’s business to ensure ongoing statutory and regulatory compliance. - Identifies and assesses risk and determines and effectuates appropriate course of action for a broad spectrum of risks for specific business areas and others with department-wide/Line of Business (LOB) consequences. - Demonstrates subject matter level proficiency in substantive practice areas. - Acts as an advisor to other legal staff within the department on specific practice areas. - Acts autonomously as a LOB Subject Matter Expert (SME) and the main point of contact for legal concerns for business partners and department(s). - Provides advice and guidance on daily commercial legal matters relevant to the business and/or staff group, as well as on an enterprise-wide level. - Maintains relationships with outside counsel.
