Junior Network Engineer

• Build, configure, maintain, and decommission IPsec VPN tunnels between private cloud infrastructure and customer networks. • Monitor VPN performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and ensure high availability. • Maintain documentation for VPN configurations, standards, and procedures. • Coordinate with internal teams and external customers to implement secure connectivity solutions. • Participate in an on-call rotation to support network operations and respond to outages or critical incidents as needed. • Assist in the deployment, configuration, and management of hardware firewalls at remote office locations. • Support firewall rule creation, updates, and troubleshooting under guidance of senior staff. • Assist with the deployment and configuration of WiFi networks in remote offices. • Provide remote management and support for network infrastructure at branch locations. • Participate in troubleshooting network performance issues including bandwidth and connectivity. • Assist the Senior Network Engineer with network-related projects. • Gain exposure to data center networking technologies including switching, routing, and segmentation. • Support network testing, documentation, and implementation of new network solutions. • Assist with packet capture collection, basic analysis, and troubleshooting documentation. • Escalate urgent or complex issues to the Senior Network Engineer, Production IT Technical Lead, or Director of Production IT as appropriate.

Job Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Networking, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Entry-level certifications such as Network+ or similar are preferred.
  • Exposure to firewall technologies such as Fortinet, Palo Alto, Juniper, or similar technologies.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, routing protocols, and switching.
  • Basic knowledge of wireless networking concepts.
  • Familiarity with IPsec VPN tunnels.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Ability to follow documentation and standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with internal teams, vendors, and customers.
