Corporate Sustainability Manager
Amgen
The Corporate Sustainability Manager is accountable for the end-to-end delivery, operational integrity and continuous improvement of Amgen’s sustainability data, reporting, and technology enablement efforts. This role owns the design, implementation, operationalization, and ongoing optimization of sustainability reporting systems and associated controls. Own the finalization, implementation, and operationalization of the Corporate Sustainability data hub, with full accountability for delivery, performance, and continuous improvement. Lead end-to-end implementation and ongoing administration of regulatory sustainability reporting software, ensuring regulatory alignment, data integrity, and user adoption. Maintain and evolve sustainability technology platforms to ensure scalability, effective controls, and alignment with enterprise architecture. Apply AI and automation solutions to improve the efficiency and scalability of Corporate Sustainability processes. Lead the development and execution of a technology-focused controls roadmap and related documentation to ensure audit readiness and regulatory compliance. Proactively identify data, process, system, and regulatory risks, and design and implement mitigation strategies and preventive controls. Partner with Internal Audit, DTI, and Finance to align systems, controls, and documentation. Partner with business stakeholders to collect, validate, and manage sustainability data for reporting purposes. Manage external consultants supporting sustainability technology initiatives. Support the external audit of Amgen’s sustainability data. Monitor and respond to ESG rating agencies. Conduct peer benchmarking to inform internal analysis and strategic decisions. Coordinate and respond to ESG surveys.
Job Requirements
- Doctorate degree
- OR Master’s degree and 2 years of sustainability/ESG reporting, financial or non-financial reporting, audit, internal controls, or enterprise systems implementation
- OR Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of sustainability/ESG reporting, financial or non-financial reporting, audit, internal controls, or enterprise systems implementation
- OR Associate’s degree and 8 years of sustainability/ESG reporting, financial or non-financial reporting, audit, internal controls, or enterprise systems implementation
- OR High school diploma / GED and 10 years of sustainability/ESG reporting, financial or non-financial reporting, audit, internal controls, or enterprise systems implementation
- Demonstrated experience implementing or optimizing sustainability reporting systems and technology platforms, such as Workiva.
- Experience supporting regulatory and voluntary disclosures, including CSRD, ISSB, TCFD, CDP, SASB, and GRI.
- Experience designing and documenting data governance frameworks and controls to support audit and assurance requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex, cross-functional initiatives with minimal oversight.
- Experience partnering with Digital Technology and Innovation and Finance to align systems, controls, and data architecture.
- Proven ability to manage external consultants and deliver against defined milestones.

- Salary Range
- The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is 121,296.00 USD - 141,168.00 USD.
