Senior Manager, Software Engineering

McKesson

Role Description Work closely with Product Owners, Sales, Business Analysts, Quality Assurance, and Project Management for understanding the functional and non-functional requirements of a system, service, or product offering. - Demonstrate leadership abilities across operation teams within production to address customer needs for support, issue analysis, enhancements, and corrective actions. - Evolve the existing software systems, infrastructure, and architecture as needed to support growth, SLAs, and continued operation within selected OS, database, and integrated commercial software. - Coordinate release, sprint, and project planning with coordinated meetings as needed to ensure project tracking and completion. - Collaborate with system, network, and storage teams on budget and growth planning for database, storage, server, and network systems. - Resolve technical problems, issues, and escalations within the delivery team and project activities. - Provide leadership and guidance to coach, motivate, and lead team members to their optimum performance levels and career development. - Maintain and monitor individual employees’ performance plans. - 100% Telecommuting is permitted from any location in the U.S. - 5-10% domestic travel required. Qualifications - Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field. - Fifteen (15) years of experience in the job offered or related field. - Five (5) years demonstrated experience in each of the following: - Technical management experience in software engineering. - Experience in a development team environment. - Experience building and deploying applications and data to platforms including: Azure, GCP, Cloud Foundry, or AWS. - Experience with large-scale multi-tenant service delivery. - Experience building automated solutions to replicate simple and complex workflows in organizations including: single workflow; Spring Microservices. - Experience working with messaging frameworks including: Redis, Kafka API experience, or REST. - Knowledge of core security principles. - CI/CD and Automated Testing. - Experience with container-based technology Docker. - Front end and UI experience. - Scripting with Python, or Bash. - Experience with ReactJS Java framework. Requirements - Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field. - Fifteen (15) years of experience in the job offered or related field.
