• Drive assigned account growth by prospecting, developing, and closing new business while expanding relationships with existing accounts [Own a portfolio of strategic accounts, developing and executing account plans while expanding relationships with existing accounts]. • Serve as the primary relationship owner of account management for healthcare providers, including physicians, genetic counselors, and staff. • Proactively identify risks to customer satisfaction, adoption, or retention and coordinate cross-functional action plans to address them. • Analyze account utilization trends and customer needs to identify opportunities for expanded testing adoption and revenue growth. • Deliver tailored, consultative sales presentations to communicate the value of GeneDx’s solutions and services. • Coordinate and execute both in-person and virtual client meetings. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth onboarding, service delivery, and timely resolution of customer issues. • Lead business reviews with key stakeholders to evaluate account performance, identify growth opportunities, and strengthen strategic partnerships. • Lead educational efforts within the territory, including developing and executing in-office appointments, regional conferences events, physician lunches and dinners, and other engagement initiatives. • Stay current on clinical genomics developments, product offerings, and competitive landscape to position GeneDx effectively. • Maintain high field presence, with an expectation of 4.5 days per week spent in the field with clients. • Meet or exceed assigned sales targets, KPIs, and activity metrics. • Document customer opportunities, interactions, and updates in CRM and other business systems as needed, maintain a target clinician development pipeline. • Actively embody and encourage GeneDx cultural principles: be adaptable to change; communicate directly, with empathy; do what we say we’re going to do; be bold in our vision and brave in our execution; operate with a sense for action. • Demonstrate accountability and a strong work ethic, with a team-first mentality.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 3+ years of healthcare sales experience or 2+ years as a genetic counselor.
  • 5+ years of experience in customer-facing roles such as account management, client success, customer support, or sales.
  • Proven ability to solve complex, cross-functional customer challenges.
  • Strong relationship development and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent listening, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
  • Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM tools preferred.
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently and manage territory priorities effectively.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Role Description The Account Manager is responsible for working with Advisors/Client Executives and Account Executives to service client accounts. The position requires day-to-day client servicing for a specific set of clients and entails a great deal of verbal, electronic and other written communications. The Account Manager will manage the renewal and marketing process and prepare materials for presentations and communications, in collaboration with their more senior team members. Work is completed with a significant amount of independent discretion. While in this role, you will be developing relationships with clients and carrier contacts and working proactively to effectively and efficiently deliver services to clients. In addition to managing your own clients, you may also continue to support the Account Management Team as assigned. Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Works proactively to develop relationships with carrier and client contacts; takes an active role in meetings. - Prepare and send the request for proposals to applicable insurance carriers and spreadsheets results as they come in. Prepare the first draft of the renewal presentation. - Takes the lead on reviewing proposals and carrier source documents for accuracy in collaboration with the Account Executive or Advisor/Client Executive. - Begins to communicate directly with clients and carriers, with approval from the Account Executive or Advisor/Client Executive. - Creates and maintains client files in accordance with office procedures. Keep client policy records in the agency management system. - Utilize agency management system, rating system, and carrier websites. - The first line of answering billing questions from clients and insurance company personnel.
