Role Description Are you decisive, detail-oriented, and skilled at building relationships? Join our team as a Senior Client Company Underwriter, where you’ll partner with assigned client company underwriters to provide equipment breakdown coverage for new and renewal business. You’ll manage a diverse portfolio, evaluate and quote risks, and play a key role in maintaining a profitable reinsurance business. We are seeking a decisive, relationship-driven Senior Client Company Underwriter to support and grow our portfolio of Equipment Breakdown (EB) business. In this role, you will: - Partner closely with assigned client company underwriters to deliver tailored coverage solutions for both new and renewal business. - Underwrite a diverse book of business, evaluate risks, develop quotes, and manage client relationships to support profitable growth. - Serve as a mentor within the team and collaborate frequently with Engineering, Claims, the Client Integration Team (CIT), and other internal partners. Key Responsibilities - Renewal Management - Manage a portfolio of renewal accounts and work toward defined retention and profitability goals. - Review engineering reports, loss prevention insights, claims activity, and other relevant data early in the renewal cycle. - Engage clients to gather updated values, pricing expectations, and underwriting details. - Prepare quotes within binding authority and deliver them with supporting materials. - Document underwriting decisions and process bound business through internal systems. - New Business Underwriting - Identify and evaluate new business opportunities aligned with our growth objectives. - Review submissions, coordinate engineering assessments, gather missing information, and conduct prequalification. - Lead Collaborative Underwriting Review (CURe) discussions when needed. - Provide quotes and marketing materials, follow up with clients, and manage accepted accounts through issuance. - Market Knowledge & Client Expertise - Participate in training related to occupancies, products, and underwriting best practices. - Stay current on HSB-rated instructions and ensure accuracy for assigned client companies. - Expand knowledge to increase underwriting authority and technical expertise. - Client Engagement - Build and strengthen relationships through virtual meetings and onsite client visits. - Prepare for client meetings by reviewing account status, identifying issues, and planning discussion points. - Support retention and growth by aligning underwriting strategy with joint risk appetite. - Team Mentorship & Collaboration - Provide guidance to peers and client companies, sharing underwriting knowledge and offering training support. - Assist underwriters with sales call preparation and proposal development. - Foster a positive team culture and communicate performance or development observations to leadership. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, Finance, or equivalent experience. - 5+ years of underwriting experience preferred. - P&C, Mechanical, or Facilities Engineering experience is a plus. Requirements - Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities. - Excellent analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills. - Proven negotiation and sales capabilities. - Customer-focused mindset with the ability to navigate complex risk scenarios. - Knowledge of machinery, EB exposures, and related coverages. - Ability to mentor others and contribute to a collaborative, positive team environment. Role Description The Regional Underwriting Manager is responsible for supporting the underwriting department in their day-to-day requirements while ensuring service level agreements are being maintained. Reporting directly to the VP of underwriting, the Regional Underwriting Manager will also assist in special projects as directed by management. Job Responsibilities - Provide individual Underwriter coaching, mentoring, and training on the expectations, processes, guidelines, system work (Encompass), etc., escalating questions as needed for clarification. - Serve as the primary point of contact for all questions, clarification, and instruction for Underwriters. - Ensure Underwriters understand, apply, and grow their knowledge base of guidelines, processes, and procedures at CCM. - Complete CTC reviews until Underwriters have earned lending authority. - Review the CR Lending Authority, ACES, Denial, Suspense, Failed, and 2nd Tier Review Pipeline reports daily. - Provide valid findings, training, and coaching issues weekly to the VP. - Complete at least 2 spot reviews per week on files not reviewed by another department/team (i.e. QC, CRUM, etc.). - Assist with the review of reports and findings regarding Underwriter quality as needed. - Manage the pipeline making sure loans for all areas are within SLA, and all loans placed in any external Underwriter status are for no more than 24 hours (for branch rebuttal, 72 hours). - Communicate all load balancing, designated underwriting assignments, and rush/priority reviews (VIP, Transition, etc.) to the Production Coordinators. - Assist with loan level production (underwriting, clearing conditions) based on staffing/volume needs. - Review and complete non-health/safety escrow holdbacks. - Review loan scenarios as needed/required. - Review post-closing/credit risk findings to identify and determine training needs. - Conduct new branch welcome calls and existing branch calls as needed (daily, weekly, monthly). - Report on Underwriter final bonus numbers; communicate to the VP. - Interview prospective Underwriters for hire. - Review and approve timecards and PTO requests. - Attend weekly meetings with the VP and Monthly National Underwriting department calls conducted by the SVP of Underwriting; hold bi-weekly team meetings with direct reports. Qualifications - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education/experience. - DE, SAR and LAPP certifications are required; experience with USDA is a plus. - 5+ years of Mortgage Underwriting Experience (FHA, VA and Conventional) with agency guideline knowledge. - 5+ years of underwriting supervisory experience. - Encompass LOS experience. - Knowledge of ATR/QM requirements. - Knowledge of compliance and disclosure requirements. - Excellent communication and organizational skills. - Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook).
