• Curriculum Development for Ledgebrook University Create comprehensive training materials (presentations, manuals, video conferencing, and in-person sessions) for new and current underwriting staff to improve underwriting skills, system proficiency and compliance knowledge. • Expand and grow content for e-learning, virtual instructor-led training, and in-person workshops. • Update training materials regularly to reflect changes in appetite and internal software/systems. • Collaborate within the Underwriting Excellence team to determine training, technology, and process improvement needs. • Ensure adherence to internal underwriting guidelines and external regulatory requirements. • Coordinate and schedule virtual onboarding and training sessions for new hire UWs with LBU Officer, subject matter experts and other identified stakeholders. • Manages all aspects of in-person workshops (Road Shows), including but not limited to site selection, budget oversight, and execution of on-site logistics. • Promotion of upcoming training opportunities and workshops to employees to ensure high participation. • Facilitates training on insurance appetite and company-specific systems. • Assist in onboarding new hires, providing necessary training, and ensuring compliance. • Maintaining, tracking, and updating employee training records. • Collaborate within the UW Excellence Team to identify skill gaps, performance issues, and training needs within the Underwriting team. • Regularly seeking and acting on feedback from trainees and stakeholders.
Job Requirements
- Previous experience as a Professional Liability Underwriter (3-5 years) or a Professional Liability Subject Matter Expert - Allied Healthcare, Miscellaneous PL (Real Estate, Insurance Agents/Brokers, Consultants), or Cyber Liability.
- Ability to design and produce instructional materials, including educational modules, onboarding resources, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Strong project management and scheduling skills to handle multiple training initiatives.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for instructing and presenting.
- Skilled in diverse learning technologies, including LMS, e-learning platforms, and video conferencing tools.
- Demonstrates flexibility in response to evolving technology, underwriting appetite, and organizational objectives.
- Strong interpersonal skills to engage trainees and work with other subject matter experts.

In this role, you will support and underwrite a broad range of commercial real estate transactions, including high-liability multi-site and national deals. You will play a critical role in analyzing title risk, reviewing transaction documentation, issuing underwriting guidance, and partnering with customers and internal teams to deliver exceptional commercial title solutions. Role Description The Regional Underwriting Manager is responsible for supporting the underwriting department in their day-to-day requirements while ensuring service level agreements are being maintained. The Regional Underwriting Manager provides solutions and assistance to loan level questions/escalations from the Underwriters, complex scenarios, and 2nd level mortgage reviews. Reporting directly to the VP of underwriting, the Regional Underwriting Manager will also assist in special projects as directed by management. Job Responsibilities - Provide individual Underwriter coaching, mentoring, and training on the expectations, processes, guidelines, system work (Encompass), etc., escalating questions as needed for clarification. - Serve as the primary point of contact for all questions, clarification, and instruction for Underwriters. - Ensure Underwriters understand, apply, and grow their knowledge base of guidelines, processes, and procedures at CCM. - Complete CTC reviews until Underwriters have earned lending authority. - Review the CR Lending Authority, ACES, Denial, Suspense, Failed, and 2nd Tier Review Pipeline reports daily. - Provide valid findings, training, and coaching issues weekly to the VP. - Complete at least 2 spot reviews per week on files not reviewed by another department/team (i.e. QC, CRUM, etc.). - Assist with the review of reports and findings regarding Underwriter quality as needed. - Manage the pipeline making sure loans for all areas are within SLA, and all loans placed in any external Underwriter status are for no more than 24 hours (for branch rebuttal, 72 hours). - Communicate all load balancing, designated underwriting assignments, and rush/priority reviews (VIP, Transition, etc.) to the Production Coordinators. - Assist with loan level production (underwriting, clearing conditions) based on staffing/volume needs. - Review and complete non-health/safety escrow holdbacks. - Review loan scenarios as needed/required. - Review post-closing/credit risk findings to identify and determine training needs. - Conduct new branch welcome calls and existing branch calls as needed (daily, weekly, monthly). - Report on Underwriter final bonus numbers; communicate to the VP. - Interview prospective Underwriters for hire. - Review and approve timecards and PTO requests. - Attend weekly meetings with the VP and Monthly National Underwriting department calls conducted by the SVP of Underwriting; hold bi-weekly team meetings with direct reports. Qualifications - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education/experience. - DE, SAR and LAPP certifications are required; experience with USDA is a plus. - 5+ years of Mortgage Underwriting Experience (FHA, VA and Conventional) with agency guideline knowledge. - 5+ years of underwriting supervisory experience. - Encompass LOS experience. - Knowledge of ATR/QM requirements. - Knowledge of compliance and disclosure requirements. - Excellent communication and organizational skills. - Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook).
