As a Field Services Engineer, you will have the opportunity to experience a range of activities, which vary week to week and sometimes day to day: - Travel to customer site to support our customers to perform preventive maintenance procedures, system level repairs, system installation, and acceptance testing of Teradyne Defense and Aerospace Test Systems (S9100, SpectrumHS, SpectrumBT Tester, High Speed SubSystem, Tempo). - Interface with various support teams within Teradyne to deliver on Teradyne's commitment to our customers. - Provide technical support to customers and field teams either on-site or through phone or email. - Identify issues that require escalation with the team. - Make recommendations to existing product solutions to improve tester up-time and performance. - Participate in cost reduction, productivity improvement programs. - Uphold Teradyne and respect customer core values at all times. Qualifications - 5+ years’ test/product service engineering experience. - Prior experience on Teradyne or any other ATE platform is a plus. - Experience with C, C++ or Visual Basic 5 (preferred). - Degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering (preferred). - Proficient with Siemens PLC programming, debugging, Watlow programming, TIA portal, Step 7 (preferred). - Strong automation troubleshooting and analytical skills. - Sensitive to the needs in communication and effective follow-up till resolution of issues. - Self-starter and good team player with good interpersonal and problem-solving skills. - Self-driven in pursuing technical knowledge related to the job. - Continuously align work procedures and expectations with customers and field team with the changing needs and expectation of the dynamic business environment. - Must be able to maintain requirements for a secure clearance. - Must be able to accommodate travel requirements for the job – travel will be required most weeks (75%+) and may be short notice. - Ability to frequently lift and carry 25 -50 lbs. - This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Requirements - The base salary range for this role is $78,200 to 125,100. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location. - This job is eligible for discretionary bonus(es) based on financial performance. Role Description Our Field Service Technicians keep our customers running. This position deals with every aspect of a petroleum system, starting with the above-ground tanks, pumps, monitors, fuel dispensers, and the point-of-sale systems on the tanks. Most days are spent diagnosing, triaging, repairing/replacing broken parts on tanks in the area. In addition to working with the crew on installations of new equipment/sites. The tank technician will be travelling to Fort St John, Grand Prairie, and Northern BC as required. Your Schedule: Full-time rotating schedule, 14/7 or 10/4 shifts with an average of 10-hour days. Depending on where you live, this can be a remote position where you start and end the day from your home. What you will do day-to-day: - Take daily directions from the supervisor on the task to be performed. - Complete preventative maintenance on fueling tanks and systems. - Install, test new plumbing on tank setups at customer sites. - Analyze electrical and mechanical problems on fuel equipment and repair as required. - Housekeeping activities to maintain a professional image and ensure safe operations. - This role requires a significant amount of travel from site to site in a supplied company truck. - Accurately complete all necessary forms – work orders, inventory, checklists, reports, etc. - Communicate with customers and explain technical issues in a non-technical manner. - Stock and Track parts inventory in your vehicle to ensure materials are billed to the jobs. - Respond to after-hours emergency service requests for "site down" or other priority situations. Qualifications - A mechanically inclined person who enjoys a variety of tasks and is willing to learn. - 5+ years’ experience in a shop/field or mechanical environment. - Clean Driving record, pass A&D test. - High School and/or Trade/Journeyman Ticket. - A positive, willing-to-learn attitude and good communication will go a long way! - Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather; daily travel, lift 50 Lbs, climb ladders. - Petroleum Mechanic certification is an asset but not required.
