Sales and marketing at an engineering firm are different. You'll serve as the owner of RJN’s national tradeshow and conference execution, working closely with sales, marketing and operations to coordinate all aspects of our presence, as well as assist with various marketing initiatives and manage marketing administrative tasks. Position Summary: The Marketing Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting RJN’s nationwide sales and marketing efforts with primary responsibility for executing our tradeshow and event strategy. Working closely with the Vice President of Client Services, the Marketing Director, and the Marketing team, you'll partner with internal client managers and technical staff across the country. The role also provides hands-on operational support for the marketing team’s day-to-day activities. This is a hybrid position based out of our corporate headquarters in Downers Grove, Illinois. Position Responsibilities: Tradeshow & Event Leadership – This role serves as the logistical owner of RJN’s national tradeshow and conference program, one of the most visible and mission-critical components of our business development strategy. RJN participates in nearly 100 conferences, tradeshows, and career fairs annually across the country. You will work with the sales and marketing team, as well as event attendees, to plan, coordinate, and execute all aspects of our event presence, including registrations, sponsorships, booth logistics, shipping, vendor coordination, and branded materials, ensuring each event aligns with our strategic goals. This role requires exceptional organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage dozens of concurrent deadlines. Success in this area directly impacts RJN’s visibility, client relationships, and ability to win work. Marketing Operations Support – You will support the day-to-day operations of the marketing team, including expense tracking and reconciliation, vendor coordination, printing and production logistics, mailing activities, and maintenance of marketing materials and event assets. Sales and Market Research Support – You will assist in maintaining accurate and organized data for our customer relationship management (CRM) tools and event tracking. You will assist with market research and data analytics to support sales and marketing strategy. Marketing Materials Support – You will assist in the quality control and final production of proposals, qualifications, and other marketing materials that support the pursuit of new work. Responsibilities include proofreading, formatting, and final production in both digital and physical formats. Strong grammar and attention to detail are important. Marketing Communications Support – You will assist with maintaining the quality and consistency of internal and external communications, including social media, newsletters, and the company intranet.
