Applicants beyond fifty (50) miles may still be considered. About the role... - This position is accountable for profit, loss (P&L) and growth for assigned market or product. The role develops, approves, and communicates product change recommendations cross-functionally. - The role focuses on pricing, segmentation, and complex analytics to develop market and product strategies. This includes making strategic recommendations across pricing, underwriting, product design, and eligibility to drive profitable growth and business results - This position requires natural curiosity, being comfortable with complex unstructured problem solving and dealing with ambiguity. - This position may lead and manage others. What youll accomplish... - Manages profit, loss, and growth for an assigned market or product with direction and oversight, including monitoring results, identifying performance drivers, and recommending corrective actions - Contributes to short‑term product and market plans by translating analytical insights into tactical actions aligned to broader product strategy - Utilize data, tools, dashboards, and reports in support of analyzing and managing the profit and growth of the business. - Expertise of pricing and ratemaking principles and the rating and underwriting of products. - Demonstrate an expertise in marketplace insights, competitive intelligence, and regulatory issues to inform the management and design of products. - Understand the pricing and underwriting of competitor products in support of analyzing the performance of the business relative to the market and industry. - Develops and recommends product, pricing, and underwriting changes; participates in approval processes with guidance and escalation as appropriate. - Identify and lead the exploration of unstructured problems, such as investigation of variances, mix shifts, and impacts of competitor actions. - Participates in Department of Insurance interactions and agent communications related to product and pricing changes, with guidance from senior product leaders. - Communicate insights and initial recommendations to leadership. Education Requirements - High School Diploma or equivalent High school diploma or equivalent required. - Bachelors degree in business or related fields such as mathematics, physics, engineering, economics, finance, statistics, accounting, or actuarial science preferred. Experience Requirements - Minimum 4 years of experience in US property & casualty (P&C) in a pricing or actuarial role; or one year in a Senior Product Analyst role or related experience preferred. - Experience navigating negotiations with Departments of Insurance and leading product changes in complex regulatory states. - People leadership experience preferred. Note: Candidate qualifications may be reviewed against the requirements for the associated levels of this positions core function. Salary grade will be based on selected candidates experience and skills. Special Skill Requirement - Possesses strong product knowledge. Understands principles of P&C pricing and underwriting. Understands key indicators of product health. Understands how to review and assess competitor product positioning and go to market strategies. - Excellent interpretation of complex statistical data. - Demonstrated analytical skills - Demonstrated ability to create presentations, able to communicate nuanced concepts in a straightforward way. - Possesses strong technical aptitude. Experience in Excel required. - Effective interpersonal skills - Demonstrated strategic thinking and business acumen. Physical Environment Required job duties are normally performed in a climate- controlled office environment with occasional exposure to uncontrolled outside environmental conditions. Physical Actions Job is performed in-person at a Farmers office or virtually at an approved alternative work location. The physical work environment is indoors and climate-controlled with adequate lighting and ventilation. Normal and customary distractions include background noise produced by office equipment and chatter among people, as well as interruptions.
