Editor in Chief, Genetics in Medicine, Translational Genomics
ACMG - American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics
• Refine journal scope in collaboration with ACMG leadership and the publisher • Recruit and mentor an international Editorial Board • Oversee the peer review process, with the assistance of staff • Make final publication decisions • Commission content, including Special Issues • Promote the journal globally at scientific meetings and through professional networks • Attract high-quality international submissions • Engage ACMG membership and other stakeholders to grow readership, authorship, and editorial participation — particularly among early career researchers • Represent the journal at key conferences • Monitor key performance metrics, including submissions, decisions, and citations
Job Requirements
- Strong scholarly record in translational genomics or a related field
- Peer-reviewed publishing experience, as an author and/or editor
- Collaborative leadership style with the ability to build and lead an international team of editors
- Demonstrated ability to articulate and execute a strategic vision for journal growth and development
- Commitment to scientific integrity, rigor, and inclusivity in publishing
- Editorial experience at a biomedical or genetics journal preferred
- Active international engagement (Europe, Australia, Asia) preferred
- Familiarity with open access publishing preferred
