DigitalOcean

• Develop and execute DigitalOcean's global datacenter site selection and acquisition strategy • Lead the entire lifecycle of datacenter acquisition from initial market research to negotiating contracts • Build and maintain relationships with top-tier global providers and drive vendor performance • Partner closely with Finance to build Total Cost of Ownership models • Collaborate with Legal and Datacenter Operations to ensure all facilities meet standards • Continuously monitor the global datacenter and energy markets for supply constraints and pricing trends

Job Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in technical sourcing, real estate acquisition, or infrastructure procurement
  • Proven track record of negotiating and closing complex, high-value datacenter contracts
  • Understanding of credit markets and counterparty deal structures
  • Deep understanding of datacenter mechanical, electrical, and plumbing infrastructure
  • Advanced financial modeling skills and ability to translate complex deal structures into clear TCO analysis
  • Exceptional communication skills for distilling complex market dynamics into actionable strategies
  • High tolerance for ambiguity and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
