Role Description Our Staff Counsel team is hiring an experienced Workers’ Compensation Defense Attorney licensed and residing in California. With a home base in our Glendale, CA office, this role offers genuine flexibility—on-site, hybrid, or fully remote for California-based attorneys. Other attorneys may be assigned to work under this attorney’s direction where case complexity requires. Serve as mentor to developing attorneys. Responsibilities/Essential Functions - Handles a case load of California workers’ compensation cases. - Provides direction and mentoring to others. - May assist Managing Attorney as needed in assigning cases, participating in roundtables, developing strategy, and/or evaluating staff attorneys and support staff. Qualifications - 10+ years of experience preferred. - Must be licensed to practice law in the state of California. - Must have workers’ compensation trial experience. - Demonstrated ability to handle high exposure cases. - Admitted to the bar and must be licensed to practice law in the jurisdictions where assigned. - Able to work in a team environment with other attorneys, adjusters, claims professionals and support staff. - Computer literacy, including MS Word, Lexis/Westlaw, and daily management of e-mail and calendar. • Handle all phases of real estate litigation, from case evaluation, pleadings, discovery, pre-trial, trial, settlement negotiations, through potential appeal • Craft litigation strategy and lead negotiations to secure favorable outcomes • Research and advise on complex real estate law issues and transactional risks • Draft and review litigation and transactional documents specific to real estate matters • Build and manage new client relationships, generate leads, and contribute to business development, especially within the Southern California market

Role Description We are seeking a Texas Licensed Attorney with the following primary needs: - Self-starter with meticulous attention to detail, capable of managing high-volume caseloads, and able to handle deadlines in a timely manner. - Competency in the use of and ability to learn job-related technologies such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and Teams; internet browsers; and case management software. - Strong negotiation skills to resolve impound lien disputes with repair shops, tow yards, and government agencies as well as to resolve property damage claims with insurance adjusters and opposing counsel. - Litigation skills for when negotiations fail; engage in ADR (e.g., arbitration) or when necessary, commence litigation and handle all aspects of the lawsuit. - Timely review of new assignments: analyze, interpret, and evaluate all avenues to resolve cases for clients with legal/financial interest in high dollar value assets. - Communicate directly with interested parties, including but not limited to, insurance adjusters, insurance claims supervisors, attorneys, body shops, tow yards, and clients by phone and through written correspondence. - Negotiate and settle claims within discretionary authority; obtain necessary documents and releases from clients and confirm settlement satisfaction. - Fully document all activity on the appropriate computer system(s); this includes recording all contacts, investigations, negotiations, and documentary evidence. - Adhere to the Rules of Professional Conduct.
