M&A Associate

• Identify and source software businesses that meet our acquisition criteria and key performance metrics • Develop and execute targeted prospecting campaigns via email and outbound calls, while continuously testing new business development strategies, with exposure to a high volume of deal opportunities • Build and nurture relationships with prospective acquisition targets and sell-side M&A investment banking firms • Lead preliminary evaluations of potential acquisitions, including initial business and financial due diligence, as well as opportunity and risk assessments • Own and manage a robust deal pipeline, ensuring it is consistently updated as new targets and information emerge, while working alongside a team of entrepreneurial, high-performing, and motivated individuals • Conduct industry and market research to identify trends and uncover new acquisition opportunities • Review and analyze investment materials, synthesizing large volumes of data into clear, concise, and actionable insights and presentations • Independently drive acquisition opportunities forward by understanding deal scope and maintaining momentum throughout the process, with exposure to the full deal lifecycle from sourcing to execution • Prioritize and delegate tasks effectively based on deal timelines and strategic importance • Provide ad hoc analytical and operational support to the broader team as needed • Collaborate cross-functionally to support data requests, due diligence, internal alignment, and successful deal execution
Job Requirements
- 2–3 years of experience in Investment Banking, Private Equity, or Corporate Development is required
- Prior experience with software M&A transactions is a must
- Strong academic performance from a top-tier institution
- Undergraduate degree in business or a related field is preferred
- Professional maturity and confidence in interacting with C-level executives
- Highly proactive, self-directed, and driven, with strong sales and communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated leadership potential
- Solid foundation in accounting principles and financial modeling
- Understanding of software business models and the M&A transaction lifecycle
- Strong analytical ability, pattern recognition skills, and advanced Excel proficiency
