Role Description This is a remote position for a Thai to and from English Translator and/or Editor on an ongoing basis as a Freelance Independent Contractor. - Must be a U.S. citizen willing to undergo a Tier 1 background investigation to include fingerprint completion. - The role involves the translation or editing of vital records, legal documents, and academic transcripts. - We seek experienced Thai-to-English and/or English-to-Thai translators and/or editors to join our team. - The work is for our U.S. government client and requires full U.S. citizenship. - The role will consist of translating and editing various types of documentation. Qualifications - A native speaker of Thai and near-native English. - Bachelor’s degree in translation or an equivalent qualification. - A minimum of three to five years of proven experience as a translator and/or editor. - Reliable, able to meet deadlines, and highly productive. - A team player with excellent communication skills. - Must be equipped with up-to-date Windows software. - Excellent formatting skills. - Comfortable with one-to-two-day deadlines. - Able to provide per-word rates for either translations or editing or both. - Willing to accept assignments as needed.

In this role, you will perform A/B preference testing of machine-generated translations from English into Taiwanese Mandarin, helping to evaluate and improve the quality of AI-generated content. As a Translation Validator, you will: - Independently review an English source document alongside two machine-generated translations (Variant A and Variant B). - Select the preferred translation and provide a written justification for your choice. - Review audio files and their corresponding transcriptions, evaluating accuracy, completeness, and overall quality. - Assess both transcription quality and audio quality according to project guidelines. - Complete assigned samples independently and within established timelines. - Adhere strictly to project and client guidelines. Qualifications - Native-level fluency in Taiwanese Mandarin (written and spoken). - Strong written communication skills in the target language. - Proficiency in English. - Background in linguistics, translation, or language quality assessment preferred. - Ability to work independently with high attention to detail and consistency. - Familiarity with Romanized script conventions for the relevant language is a plus (for transliteration tasks).
