Translation Consultant
Seed Company
• Perform functions to train and mentor individuals in the assigned area to become translators and translate Scripture into text manuscripts; • Check manuscripts for accuracy, guided by precedent and working within the limits of established policies. • Consult with field partners and project management in the planning and development of Bible translation programs • Training and development of the translation team, helping them to achieve and maintain a high quality of translation. • Verify the quality of translation manuscripts and/or recordings/videos before publication and report accordingly. • Development and mentoring of future quality assurance personnel, both for Seed Company and other partner organizations. • Plan, prepare, and participate in translator training workshops and other training activities. • Assist and support translation teams in developing reference materials and other translation helps. • Write reviews, research papers, and reports for review by consultants, translators, and others with an end to the furthering of quality assurance in Bible translation. • Coaching and consulting with Seed Company-supported field partners in the development and oversight of localized quality assurance efforts.
Job Requirements

- Championing Seed Company’s vision, mission, and values
- Requires an MA or higher degree in at least one relevant field, e.g., theology, Biblical languages and exegesis, linguistics, or cross-cultural studies.
- Translation Consultant Certification, through Seed Company or another FOBAI partner organization
- Minimum 3 years of experience in exegetical analysis, translation, and cross-cultural orientation.
- Requires intimate knowledge of the Bible.
- Able to hold a passport in order to visit necessary countries
