Associate Solar Commissioning Engineer
Ameresco
• Provide commissioning engineering expertise across the design, construction, and startup phases of Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems • Evaluate and interpret system designs, including electrical plans and specifications, to determine commissioning requirements • Apply engineering judgment to develop, adapt, and refine commissioning procedures and inspection frameworks • Provide technical direction to Project Managers and project teams on commissioning strategy • Independently assess system performance by reviewing contractor test results • Lead commissioning evaluations in the field, including oversight of inspections • Analyze system behavior and test results to identify deficiencies • Determine and recommend corrective actions by applying engineering principles • Review and approve corrective actions and system readiness • Synthesize technical findings into engineering conclusions
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related technical discipline
- Up to one (1) year of electrical engineering experience commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting electrical systems
- Working understanding of electrical systems and controls
- OSHA 30 certification at time of application is required
- NFPA 70e certification is required
- Familiarity with the National Electrical Code
- MS Office proficiency required with Adobe, Excel and Word
- Strong verbal, written, computer communication and technical presentation skills.
- Valid Drivers’ License in good standing, issued by resident state required.
