Role Description The Sourcing Specialist is an analytical, execution-focused supply chain professional responsible for securing supply continuity, optimizing procurement costs, and supporting sustainable revenue growth. This role leads formal sourcing activities, evaluates supplier performance and commercial terms, analyzes purchasing data, and delivers reliable, cost-effective supply solutions aligned with company objectives. The Sourcing Specialist partners closely with Customer Service Representatives (CSRs), Procurement, Operations, and other cross-functional teams to execute structured procurement processes, mitigate supplier risk, and support strategic sourcing initiatives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Strategic Sourcing & Procurement - Serve as the primary sourcing contact for assigned accounts and product categories. - Conduct formal RFQ and RFP processes in alignment with sourcing strategy. - Evaluate supplier pricing, lead times, service levels, and commercial terms. - Support supplier negotiations and sourcing recommendations. - Maintain accurate documentation of sourcing decisions within ERP and company systems. - Supplier Risk Management - Identify and assess supplier risks. - Develop contingency sourcing options for critical products and customers. - Proactively communicate supply risks and mitigation plans. - Operational Support - Resolve complex sourcing and fulfillment issues beyond standard CSR processes. - Coordinate with suppliers, logistics partners, Procurement, Operations, and internal teams. - Escalate supplier performance concerns when appropriate. - Data Analysis & Continuous Improvement - Analyze purchasing trends and spend patterns. - Recommend sourcing improvements that improve customer value, profitability, and operational efficiency. - Support supplier optimization and continuous improvement initiatives. - Professional Standards - Communicate professionally with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders. - Maintain integrity, accountability, professionalism, and accuracy. - Participate in ongoing training and development. Qualifications - High school diploma or equivalent required. - Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Operations, Procurement, or a related field preferred. - Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered. - Two to four years of experience in sourcing, procurement, purchasing, supply chain, inside sales, customer service, or a related business support role preferred. - Experience supporting supplier relationships, pricing requests, purchase orders, lead time management, and customer-driven sourcing activities preferred. - Distribution or industrial supply experience preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities - Working knowledge of sourcing principles, procurement processes, supplier management, and purchasing best practices. - Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate pricing, lead times, supplier performance, purchasing history, and customer demand trends. - ERP experience preferred; Prophet 21 (P21) experience is a plus. - Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with the ability to analyze purchasing data and reports. - Strong verbal and written communication skills. - Ability to collaborate effectively across Customer Experience, Procurement, Operations, Replenishment, and leadership teams. - Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. - Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making abilities. - Commitment to professionalism, accuracy, integrity, accountability, and Stellar's values. Additional Requirements - Must be at least 18 years of age. - Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening. - Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. - Must maintain regular and reliable attendance. - Must be able to communicate professionally with customers, suppliers, vendors, and internal teams. Working Conditions - Physical Demands: - Prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing while working at a computer workstation. - Must be able to view computer screens, reports, spreadsheets, and detailed purchasing information for extended periods. - Frequently uses standard office equipment, including a computer, telephone, and other office technology. - Occasionally moves throughout the office to attend meetings, collaborate with team members, or retrieve office materials. - Work Environment: - This role may be performed remotely, with office or hybrid work options available in select locations based on business needs. - Regular use of ERP systems, Microsoft Office applications, email, telephone, and other business software. - Fast-paced environment requiring accuracy, prioritization, responsiveness, and sound judgment. - Work may involve managing urgent sourcing requests, supplier delays, pricing issues, and supply continuity challenges. - Must follow all company and customer-specific safety policies and procedures.
