Litigation Attorney - In House Counsel

Role Description Manage a full litigation docket from intake through resolution, including: - Strategy - Discovery - Motion practice - Settlement Serve as lead in-house counsel on assigned matters with direct ownership of outcomes. Supervise and coordinate outside counsel, ensuring: - Efficiency - Quality - Alignment with organizational goals Draft and review: - Pleadings - Discovery - Motions - Settlement agreements - Consent judgments Oversee and respond to California Proposition 65 Notices of Violation and related enforcement actions. Conduct legal research and provide strategic guidance on litigation and regulatory risk. Participate directly in: - Mediations - Negotiations - Case resolution Mentor paralegals and legal support staff and manage internal legal workflows. Stay current on California law, including Proposition 65 developments, and proactively advise leadership. Qualifications - Juris Doctor from an accredited law school - Active California Bar license in good standing - 8+ years of litigation experience, in-house and/or law firm - Strong legal writing, research, and case management skills - Experience managing outside counsel and litigation strategy - Ability to work independently with minimal oversight - Willingness to travel to California as needed Requirements - This position requires active California Bar membership and deep litigation experience. - Environmental or consumer litigation experience is strongly preferred, but not strictly required if the litigation background is highly aligned.
