Field Service Engineer

• Provide onsite service including repairs, preventive maintenance, upgrades, and installation of IDD analyzers • Travel, on short notice, to customer sites to resolve reported issues or support other field service personnel • Observe and follow Good Documentation Practices (GDPs) and internal policies and processes as required for field service reports and job-related submissions pertaining to spare parts: ordering, usage, returns, physical count, etc. • Display professionalism, understanding, tact, fairness, and technical knowledge in all customer interactions • Collaborate with internal partners to resolve customer issues and improve processes • Provide remote and onsite service training or assistance to Biomedical Engineering Technicians (BMET) or advanced operators • Increase technical competency level servicing instruments by completing in-person or online training courses • Manage travel expenses and follow Thermo Fisher Scientific travel policies and guidelines
Job Requirements
- Possess an associate degree from a Technical or Engineering field in Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical or similar, or equivalent combination of skills and experience
- Experience in related life sciences, biomedical engineering and/or technical customer-facing roles
- Experience with operating, troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating complex analyzers or systems
- Experience in a clinical, diagnostic and/or another regulated environment (CAP, CLIA, FDA) preferred
- Strong competency on Windows and other software, network knowledge, electrical/electronics, mechanics, chemistry technology; an analytical thinker with good engineering aptitude
- Ability to obtain and possess a valid REAL ID driver's license, with a clean Motor Vehicle report
- Overtime and last-minute schedule changes may occur to ensure customer satisfaction

• You will be part of a 35-person team of technology-driven sensor, IoT, and hardware engineers. • Together with your colleagues, you will take on the following tasks: you will get complex products up and running on-site at customer locations. • You will work in operational field environments to validate, test, and troubleshoot hardware and software under live conditions and unpredictable field circumstances. • You will interpret complex customer requirements, handle technical pre-sales engagement, and develop smaller, tailored system adaptations to ensure our products integrate seamlessly into customers' specific ecosystems. • You monitor systems, resolve incidents, and continuously improve observability.
Role Description As a Field SIU Investigation Property/Casualty you will be responsible for investigating and analyzing complex, multi-discipline coverage and claims that have been referred to the special investigation unit (SIU) for potential fraud. This role typically handles a combination of complex attorney represented and unrepresented claims and moderate to complex losses, in which suspicious activity has been identified. The individual performs a thorough investigation including: - Conducting background searches, scene investigations, and clinic inspections - Taking recorded statements - Reviewing and analyzing medical notes, bills, and property damage - Conducting witness interviews and social media searches The individual conducts surveillance on property and/or creates scene reconstructions on some investigations and reviews whether fraud can be substantiated and supports a lawsuit. The individual provides work guidance and direction to less senior employees and provides mentoring and coaching to the team. We are seeking an experienced Field SIU Investigator to handle Personal Auto Property and Casualty claims, with some exposure to commercial auto. The ideal candidate will bring direct SIU experience working for an insurance carrier and have a strong background in either property or casualty investigations. This person should be comfortable working in the field, conducting detailed and thorough investigations, and adapting to changing priorities. Strong attention to detail, independence, and investigative curiosity are key to success in this role. Candidates must reside within or be able to cover the Orlando, Florida territory, including Osceola, Seminole, Volusia, or Lake County.
