Medical Virtual Assistant – Podiatry

• Review medical transcriptions and finalize physician charts for signature • Process incoming and outgoing referrals and accurately populate patient charts • Handle patient confirmation calls, insurance eligibility verification, and sort incoming faxes • Clean up and organize clinical notes • Process and manage referrals efficiently • Perform outbound and follow-up patient calls • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits • Sort and categorize incoming medical documents and faxes • Upload and maintain accurate patient records in the EMR • Send physician orders once documentation has been completed • Support other administrative and clinical workflows as needed
Job Requirements
- Previous experience as a Medical Virtual Assistant, Medical Assistant, Medical Scribe, or similar healthcare support role
- Strong understanding of medical documentation and patient charting
- Experience processing referrals and insurance eligibility verification
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate medical records
- Comfortable handling both clinical and administrative tasks
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities
- Experience in Podiatry (highly preferred)
- Orthopedic or surgical clinic experience will also be considered
- Medical Assistant background preferred
- RN or other healthcare professional background is a plus but not required
- Experience using AdvancedMD EMR
- Experience using Vonage phone system
