Payroll & Leave Specialist

• Process biweekly/semi-monthly payroll for exempt and non-exempt employees, including clinicians, hourly staff, and corporate team members • Ensure accurate calculation of wages, overtime, bonuses, deductions, and benefits contributions • Maintain payroll system data integrity and manage updates for new hires, terminations, promotions, and compensation changes • Partner with TriNet and Finance on payroll reporting, reconciliations, and compliance support • Serve as the first point of contact for payroll inquiries, resolving issues promptly and with care • Administer all employee leave of absence programs, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, state and local leave laws, parental leave, personal leave, and workers' compensation leaves, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and company requirements • Partner closely with People Operations, Clinical Leadership, and Legal teams to coordinate pay impacts, benefits continuation, scheduling considerations, and reasonable accommodations while maintaining accurate leave records and ensuring a positive employee experience • Stay up to date on federal, state, and local payroll/tax laws, particularly in multi-state healthcare employment • Ensure compliance with healthcare industry-specific requirements (e.g., credentialing, licensure, and timekeeping standards).
Job Requirements
- 3-5+ years of experience in payroll processing and HR/people operations
- Proficiency with payroll and HRIS systems (specifically TriNet)
- Strong understanding of payroll regulations, wage and hour laws, and tax requirements
- High attention to detail with strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
- Experience working in a fast-paced, growth-stage company a plus.
