District Sales Manager – Mining and Terminal
DuBois Chemicals, Inc.
• Drive profitable revenue growth and expand market share within mining, terminal operations accounts, and distributors across the assigned territory. • Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities with mine operators, bulk material handling facilities, terminals, and related industrial customers. • Develop strong customer relationships by understanding site-specific operational challenges and recommending value-added chemical and service solutions. • Collaborate with Technical Service Representatives and customer operations to solve customer problems, install, and repair application systems and support chemical applications with customers. • Create and execute territory growth plans, account strategies, and sales objectives that align with district and regional targets. • Manage the full sales cycle, including prospecting, technical presentations, proposal development, contract negotiation, and closing. • Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline and accurately manage opportunities through CRM tools and funnel reviews. • Collaborate with technical service, operations, marketing, and leadership teams to ensure successful implementation and ongoing customer support. • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customers’ needs to identify growth opportunities and defend existing business. • Support product trials, field evaluations, and on-site customer visits to demonstrate performance value and secure long-term partnerships. • Prepare regular sales forecasts, activity reports, and key performance updates for leadership. • Travel throughout the territory to visit current and prospective customers, participate in industry events, and strengthen market presence.
Job Requirements
- 7+ years of successful industrial sales experience in mining, terminal operations, bulk material handling, water treatment, specialty chemicals, heavy industry, or related industrial markets required.
- Strong consultative selling, negotiation, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop new business, grow existing accounts, and consistently deliver sales results.
- Strong knowledge of chemical application systems.
- Ability to repair, install and troubleshoot application systems.
- Experience managing complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders and technical solution selling.
- Working knowledge of mining operations, terminal processes, material handling systems, and industrial safety procedures or related industrial applications preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to present effectively to customers and internal audiences.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM platforms, and sales pipeline management tools.
- Programming logic for applications systems is preferred.
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and capable of working independently while collaborating across functions.
- Ability to travel up to 60% including overnight travel.
