• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Product Compliance Leads and compliance specialists responsible for supporting global payroll products • Establish team priorities, operating models, and development plans that enable scalable support across multiple products and jurisdictions • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement • Build organizational capability through coaching, succession planning, and knowledge-sharing initiatives • Ensure the team remains a trusted partner to Product, Operations, and Legal stakeholders • Execute the strategic vision for Product Strategy & Compliance across Remote's global payroll platform • Establish frameworks and governance models that ensure compliance requirements are consistently incorporated throughout the product lifecycle • Create scalable approaches for managing legislative change, product readiness, and regulatory implementation across multiple countries • Partner with Product Leadership to align compliance priorities with broader product strategy and business objectives • Drive initiatives that improve compliance coverage, operational scalability, and customer outcomes • Oversee the interpretation of complex payroll, employment, tax, and labor legislation across multiple jurisdictions • Ensure regulatory requirements are translated into clear business requirements, product specifications, and implementation guidance • Support Product Managers and Engineering teams in designing solutions that are compliant, scalable, and operationally effective • Provide strategic direction on how legislative requirements should be operationalized within products and workflows • Promote consistency in how compliance requirements are assessed, documented, and implemented globally • Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Payroll Operations leaders to embed compliance controls into product architecture and automation frameworks • Advocate for compliance-by-design principles that reduce manual intervention and operational risk • Identify opportunities to leverage technology, automation, and AI to improve compliance outcomes and customer experiences • Support the development of scalable product capabilities that simplify regulatory complexity for customers • Influence roadmap decisions by balancing regulatory requirements, customer needs, technical feasibility, and business priorities • Oversee the monitoring and assessment of legislative and regulatory developments impacting Remote's payroll products • Establish processes that enable proactive identification, prioritization, and implementation of regulatory changes • Support country expansion initiatives by assessing product readiness and regulatory requirements for new markets • Partner with Legal, Operations, and Product teams to develop implementation strategies for evolving regulatory obligations • Ensure the organization maintains awareness of emerging trends, risks, and opportunities within the global payroll landscape • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders across Product, Engineering, Legal, Payroll Operations, and Executive Leadership • Provide strategic guidance on compliance risk, regulatory developments, market requirements, and product direction • Represent Product Strategy & Compliance in roadmap planning, strategic initiatives, and cross-functional decision-making forums • Build strong partnerships across the organization to align compliance objectives with broader business goals • Drive collaboration between stakeholders to ensure regulatory requirements are addressed efficiently and effectively
Job Requirements
- Deep understanding of global payroll, employment, tax, and labor compliance requirements across multiple jurisdictions
- Experience translating complex regulatory requirements into scalable product capabilities, business requirements, and operational processes
- Strong understanding of payroll technology, product development lifecycles, and compliance-by-design principles
- Ability to balance regulatory obligations with customer experience, automation, and commercial objectives
- Experience supporting global payroll products in highly regulated environments
- Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams within Compliance, Product Compliance, Payroll, or related functions

Role Description We're looking for a proactive, detail-oriented Accounts Payable & Payroll Specialist who takes ownership and gets things done.
