Job Description

Staff Accountant – Senior Accountant

VIVIO, a Public Benefit Corporation

• Active involvement in day-to-day operational accounting activities • Assists in the preparation of financial reports and analysis for internal and external use • Prepares monthly and quarterly reconciliations • Interprets financial transactions, resolves accounting discrepancies and identifies significant fluctuations • Develops and implements processes with focus on automation, scalability, and efficiency to streamline accounting methods and increase productivity • Serve as a finance partner to HR and work closely with our PEO- collaborating on payroll changes, benefits administration, PTO tracking, headcount planning, new hire setup, terminations, benefits reconciliation, and compensation reporting. • Reconcile payroll liabilities including taxes, benefits, garnishments, and 401(k) contributions • Takes an active role in month / quarter / year-end closing processes • Collaborate with external auditors and tax professionals • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal controls • Assist with the preparation of the annual budget and forecast • Work with the finance leader on federal, state, and local tax filings and registrations in partnership with external tax advisors, keeping track of deadlines and filing status • Assist with equity compensation accounting, including stock options and RSUs • Surface issues, risks, and discrepancies proactively • Performs special projects and studies on accounting and control matters as requested.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance/business administration required.
  • 2+ year experience in financial reporting and/or general accounting
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP
  • Requires excellent analytical ability, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and in teams
  • Good oral and written communication skills required
  • Possesses Intermediate Excel skills
  • Excellent time management, planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a remote environment.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and anticipate and solve problems.
  • Ability to analyze problems and multiple alternate solutions to be able to quickly make decisions.
  • Ability to develop practices, workflows, and policies.
