Role Description The Sr. Manager of Deployment is responsible for leading Canopy's entire deployment function, ensuring excellence in execution across all RTLS installations. This role oversees a team of Deployment Leads and Field Service Technicians, driving consistency, quality, and efficiency across the deployment organization. The Deployment Manager establishes deployment standards, manages vendor partnerships, optimizes resource allocation, and drives cross-functional collaboration to deliver exceptional customer outcomes. This is a strategic operational leadership role requiring both big-picture thinking and tactical execution expertise. The Sr. Manager of Deployment serves as the driver of deployment excellence, building scalable processes, cultivating team capability, and ensuring seamless coordination across the Customer Experience function. Key Responsibilities - Team Leadership & Development - Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Deployment Leads, providing coaching, performance management, and career development support. - Manage staffing plans and resource allocation for Field Service Technicians across multiple concurrent deployments. - Foster a culture of accountability, quality, and continuous improvement within the deployment organization. - Conduct regular performance reviews and establish clear success metrics for direct reports. - Quality Standards & Process Excellence - Establish and enforce deployment quality standards, methodologies, and best practices across all installations. - Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for deployment efficiency, quality, cost, and customer satisfaction. - Drive continuous improvement initiatives based on deployment data, lessons learned, and industry best practices. - Develop and maintain deployment playbooks, standard operating procedures, and training materials. - Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, safety standards, and customer requirements across all sites. - Vendor & Partner Management - Own and manage all vendor relationships related to deployment activities (installation contractors, equipment suppliers, logistics partners, etc.). - Negotiate vendor contracts, service level agreements, and pricing structures to optimize cost and quality. - Evaluate vendor performance regularly and drive accountability to contracted terms. - Identify and onboard new vendors as needed to support business growth and geographic expansion. - Resource Planning & Scheduling - Coordinate master schedules for all Field Service Technicians and Deployment Leads across active projects. - Optimize resource utilization and balance workload across the team to meet deployment commitments. - Partner with Implementation Managers to align deployment resources with project timelines and customer expectations. - Manage deployment capacity planning and forecasting to support business growth. - Cross-Functional Collaboration - Work closely with Customer Experience leadership to ensure alignment on deployment strategy, priorities, and customer outcomes. - Partner with Implementation Management, Customer Success, Product, and Engineering teams to identify handoff points and drive seamless collaboration. - Collaborate with Sales and Solutions Engineering during pre-sales to ensure deployment feasibility and accurate scoping. - Identify cross-functional process improvement opportunities and lead initiatives to close gaps and enhance efficiency. - Serve as the voice of deployment in strategic discussions around product roadmap, go-to-market strategy, and customer experience design. - Strategic Oversight & Reporting - Provide executive visibility into deployment portfolio health, risks, and performance trends. - Analyze deployment data to identify patterns, drive strategic decisions, and inform capacity planning. - Manage deployment budget and cost structures, driving efficiency while maintaining quality standards. - Escalate critical issues and drive resolution of systemic challenges impacting deployment success. Qualifications - 8+ years of experience in deployment operations, field services management, or technical implementation leadership. - 3+ years of people management experience, leading teams of 5+ technical professionals. - Proven track record establishing and scaling deployment operations in a technology or healthcare technology environment. - Strong vendor management experience, including contract negotiation and performance management. - Demonstrated expertise in workforce planning, resource optimization, and scheduling across distributed teams. - Excellent analytical skills with ability to define, track, and drive improvement in operational KPIs. - Experience implementing process improvement methodologies and driving organizational change. - Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with ability to influence across all organizational levels. - Strong business acumen with experience managing budgets and cost optimization. Preferred - Healthcare technology or RTLS deployment experience is strongly preferred. - Experience with complex, multi-site deployment programs. - Familiarity with healthcare regulations, facility operations, and clinical workflows. - Experience working in high-growth SaaS or technology companies.
