Senior Database Migration Consultant – Pod Lead

HIKINEX

• Lead the SQL Server to Aurora PostgreSQL migration effort • Define and oversee schema conversion using AWS Schema Conversion Tool (AWS SCT) • Resolve complex database objects that cannot be automatically converted • Convert and optimize stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views • Design and oversee AWS DMS migration processes, including full-load and CDC replication • Review and validate work completed by team members • Optimize PostgreSQL performance and database design • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the database migration team

Job Requirements

  • Strong experience with SQL Server and T-SQL development
  • Expertise with: Stored Procedures, Functions, Triggers, Views, SQL Agent Jobs
  • Hands-on experience with Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL and PL/pgSQL
  • Experience migrating databases from SQL Server to PostgreSQL
  • Strong understanding of data type mapping, query conversion, and performance tuning
  • Experience with AWS Schema Conversion Tool (AWS SCT)
  • Experience with AWS Database Migration Service (AWS DMS)
  • Familiarity with SSIS and SSRS environments
  • Preferred: AWS Database Specialty Certification
  • Production experience with Aurora PostgreSQL
  • Experience leading large-scale SQL Server to PostgreSQL migrations
  • Experience with AWS migration and modernization projects

Our researcher conducts all hands-on experimentation; this role keeps the participant pipeline moving behind the scenes — identifying candidates, reaching out, and scheduling their visits. It is a part-time, fully remote contractor position of roughly 10 hours per week, with no in-person presence required. - Review and search a participant database to identify candidates who meet study eligibility criteria. - Reach out to prospective participants by email, phone, or text to gauge interest and confirm fit. - Schedule and coordinate on-site visits, aligning participant availability with the research calendar. - Send reminders, confirmations, and any pre-visit instructions to keep no-shows low. - Track participant status, communications, and scheduling in a shared system, and keep records accurate and up to date. - Serve as the friendly point of contact for participant questions leading up to their visit. - Flag scheduling gaps or recruitment shortfalls early so the team can adjust.
