Job Description
Participant Coordinator
Flagship Pioneering, Inc.
Role Description We’re looking for a detail-oriented Participant Coordinator to manage the logistics of bringing study participants on site. Our researcher conducts all hands-on experimentation; this role keeps the participant pipeline moving behind the scenes — identifying candidates, reaching out, and scheduling their visits. It is a part-time, fully remote contractor position of roughly 10 hours per week, with no in-person presence required. - Review and search a participant database to identify candidates who meet study eligibility criteria. - Reach out to prospective participants by email, phone, or text to gauge interest and confirm fit. - Schedule and coordinate on-site visits, aligning participant availability with the research calendar. - Send reminders, confirmations, and any pre-visit instructions to keep no-shows low. - Track participant status, communications, and scheduling in a shared system, and keep records accurate and up to date. - Serve as the friendly point of contact for participant questions leading up to their visit. - Flag scheduling gaps or recruitment shortfalls early so the team can adjust. Qualifications - Strong organizational skills and reliable follow-through on administrative tasks with minimal oversight. - Clear, warm, and professional written and verbal communication — you’ll be the first impression for many participants. - Comfort working with databases, spreadsheets, scheduling tools, and email. - Discretion and care in handling sensitive personal and health-related information. - Ability to work independently and manage your own time within a ~10 hour/week commitment. Requirements - Prior experience in clinical research coordination, participant recruitment, or a study/lab setting. - Familiarity with human-subjects research practices or IRB processes. Benefits - The pay range for this role is $30 - $50 per hour and the contractor will be employed by a third-party staffing company. - Certain employee benefits may be available to the contractor through the staffing company after meeting minimum criteria.
