COWS Program Specialist – Western US
Novus International
• Gathering, collating, and analyzing data of cow comfort measures on dairy farms. • Responsible for field implementation of the Novus C.O.W.S. program in the Western region of US. • Provide technical assistance with cow comfort field work and research, including analysis of qualitative and quantitative data. • Presenting at customer and industry events. • Support sales of ruminant products in collaboration with Novus Sales managers through leveraging C.O.W.S. service. • Build customer relationships and share industry knowledge to help customers, farmers and cattle. • Provide marketing intelligence, proactively sharing unique tools. • Participate in events such as trade shows, conferences, symposiums, customer trips, customer meetings, and internal meetings. • Adhere to the Novus Management System (NMS), Novus Integrity System (NIS), and all policies and procedures related to position assignment.
Job Requirements
- Masters of Science or equivalent in animal sciences, marketing, business or related area.
- Knowledge and understanding of the US ruminant market.
- Initiative to ensure Novus’ resources are properly used to achieve maximum potential.
- Team player to work with sales managers, technical support resources, marketing, and other team members.
- Analytical skills to quantify practical business strategies and solutions to customer needs.
- Interpersonal skills to build relationships as part of a cross-functional team.
- Ability to work independently and with others.
- Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage project database and paperwork.
- Ability to interact with dairymen and nutritionists in a comfortable and professional way.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Computer skills (Microsoft Office, SAS).
- Fluent English.
- Spanish is a Plus.
- Must be licensed, insurable and able to drive a motor vehicle.
- Must be able to travel 3-5 days per week, 3 out of 4 weeks per month.
