Role Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Payroll Specialist based in the Philippines to support payroll operations across a portfolio of startup clients. This role is critical in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, payroll reporting support, and payroll administration across multiple entities and systems. The ideal candidate brings strong organizational skills, payroll operations experience, and a process-driven mindset suited for a fast-paced, high-touch environment supporting early-stage and high-growth startup clients. This role will report to the Payroll Operations Manager (US based) and work closely with the HR and the accounting teams to support scalable and compliant payroll operations across a growing client portfolio. Responsibilities - Support end-to-end U.S. payroll processing across multiple startup clients - Assist with payroll data entry, payroll audits, and payroll reconciliation support - Validate employee deductions, payroll changes, bonuses, commissions, and reimbursements - Support payroll setup and termination processing for new hires and departing employees - Support payroll-related benefits deductions and contribution tracking for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) plans - Assist with payroll tax reporting, filings, and year-end documentation support (W-2s, 1099s) - Support payroll-related equity compensation reporting and payroll events - Assist with payroll accrual reporting and month-end close support - Maintain payroll records, documentation, and internal controls - Work within payroll systems including Gusto, Rippling, Justworks, Deel, ADP, or similar platforms - Identify opportunities to improve payroll workflows and operational efficiency - Partner closely with Payroll Operations, HR, and Accounting teams to support accurate and timely payroll operations Qualifications - 3+ years of payroll, HR operations, or payroll administration experience - Experience supporting U.S. payroll operations preferred - Experience supporting multiple clients, entities, or business units - Experience with payroll systems such as Gusto, Rippling, Justworks, Deel, or similar platforms - Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills - Strong attention to detail and organizational skills - Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment - Strong written and verbal English communication skills Requirements - Experience supporting startup or outsourced services environments (Preferred) - Familiarity with U.S. payroll taxes, deductions, and compliance processes (Preferred) - Experience supporting payroll reconciliations and month-end reporting (Preferred) - Experience working remotely with U.S.-based teams (Preferred) Compensation - Target compensation range: $18,000 – $24,000 ($7-$9/hour) commensurate with experience and qualifications.
