• Conducts analysis of client technical requirements most notably in areas of software and database architecture, system performance, system administration, and reporting. • Prepares appropriate documentation to communicate and validate the information. • Analyzes technical requirements, evaluates existing application products, and recommends efficient, cost effective solutions which support client business processes and functional requirements. • Work directly with clients to collect information on new business needs and to diagnose and troubleshoot issues they are experiencing. • Troubleshoots complex multi-server, multi-application environments by leveraging varied technical skills (application, database, networks, Windows server, user interactions, architecture setups, etc.) and analyzing log files for trends and errors. • Makes clear recommendations for improvement of systems or correction of errors. • Documents technical requirements, workflow, and system specifications. • Applies technical and business knowledge to analyze client requirements and match them to system functionality. • Develops technical and systems specific knowledge on an on-going basis and keeps up to date with latest technology solutions and security protocols. • Ensures timely administration and entering time and expense reports in a timely manner. • Interacts with peers and managers to share knowledge, raise critical issues and suggest process improvements. • Manages and supports relationships and installed products at existing clients. This includes handling questions, solving problems, writing reports, configuring database interfaces, as well as ensuring client’s general satisfaction with the software and the company.
Job Requirements
- Sage X3 technical implementation or technical implementation of similar ERP solution
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or equivalent experience required
- A consultative background with a record of delivering solutions within defined timeframes and budgets
- A keen understanding of business needs, and ability to ensure technical solutions, strategies, practices, and deliver business and customer value
- Experience consulting on systems architecture, software performance, systems security, and database optimization
- Successful track record of delivering on agreed upon business objectives and performance on key metrics
- Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Strong experience in diagnosing and resolving complex system issues
- Strong interest in research and creation of solutions for novel problems
- Strong interest in learning new software, approaches, and technical skills
- Strong knowledge of SQL Server basics: Basic Installation of a SQL instance; Basic understanding of how the SQL engine uses different elements of the database to provide a solution (data files, indexes, backups, tempdb, memory, etc.); Configuration of simple SQL server maintenance plans, file locations, recovery model, memory limits; Familiarity with SQL Server Management Studio; Ability to read and write basic SQL queries
- Basic knowledge of: Networking; Virtualization; SSL certificates and how they are used to secure websites
- Ability to document technical designs.
- Ability to write and maintain How-Tos and SOPs for complex procedures.
- Systems security and authentication - ie. LDAP, OAuth2, SAML2, etc.
