Senior Data Engineer

Rula

• Enable analytics teams at Rula to leverage AI against internal data in a secure and compliant manner. • Partner with analytics, marketing, and product teams to understand their data needs and build the systems that allow AI applications to access trusted data at scale. • Define the standards, infrastructure, and governance that power AI-driven experiences across the company, ensuring data remains reliable, secure, and easy to use. • Have a direct impact on how Rula uses AI to improve decision-making and operational efficiency.

Job Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in data engineering, software engineering, or a related field, including ownership of production data pipelines and systems.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
  • Experience designing and maintaining scalable data pipelines, data models, and data platforms.
  • Experience translating business requirements into technical designs and delivering solutions in partnership with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience independently driving projects from design through production deployment and operational support.
  • Experience implementing data security, governance, or access control practices for sensitive data.
  • Experience with large language models (LLMs), semantic layers, model context protocols (MCPs), or related technologies.
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms such as Snowflake, AWS, Spark, Kafka, Iceberg, or similar technologies.
  • Experience using infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
  • Experience working under HIPAA or other regulated environments.
  • Experience designing data architectures that enable large language models (LLMs) to securely access and reason over enterprise data.
  • Experience in influencing technical direction, establishing engineering standards, and mentoring other engineers.
