Rockstar is recruiting for a dynamic organization seeking a versatile Junior Engineer to support a modern, hybrid infrastructure. This role offers the opportunity to work with experienced teams on real-world systems, providing a strong foundation for growth in cloud and IT operations. Location Local candidates preferred (hybrid/on-site as needed). Remote candidates will be considered for exceptional fits. About the Role The organization is seeking a Junior Engineer whose primary responsibility is supporting and maintaining AWS cloud infrastructure, with a secondary focus on on-prem IT systems. The successful candidate will work closely with senior engineers, developers, and operations teams to ensure reliability, security, and performance across cloud, on-prem, and endpoint environments. Key Responsibilities Cloud & Infrastructure (Primary Focus) * Support, monitor, and maintain AWS cloud environments * Assist with provisioning, configuration, and troubleshooting of AWS resources * Utilize infrastructure as code for configuration management On-Prem & IT Systems * Support on-prem infrastructure including: * Virtualization platforms * Storage and file sharing systems * Assist with Linux server administration and basic system maintenance * Help bridge on-prem and cloud environments where needed Developer & Application Support * Troubleshoot infrastructure and environment-related issues impacting developers * Assist with deployment failures, CI/CD issues, and runtime environment problems * Help diagnose application performance or connectivity issues in collaboration with developers * Use Python and scripting tools to debug, automate, and improve operational workflows Endpoint & User Systems Support * Support and troubleshoot end user workstations and laptops * Assist with: * Operating system configuration, updates, and system troubleshooting * Integration of workstations with internal systems, cloud services, and shared resources * Act as a technical escalation point for more complex workstation issues (not a ticket-only helpdesk role) Collaboration & Communication * Communicate clearly and effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders * Document processes, changes, and troubleshooting steps * Work collaboratively within a team environment while being comfortable operating independently Required Qualifications * 2+ years of hands-on AWS experience * AWS services (EC2, RDS, Elastic Beanstalk, Control Tower) * Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls) * Linux server administration * Python scripting and basic application troubleshooting * Terraform and Infrastructure as Code experience * Experience with version control systems like GitHub Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills * AWS, networking or information security certifications * Experience with: * virtualization platforms * enterprise file/share management systems * Windows/MacOS troubleshooting and system support * Prior experience supporting production systems What We’re Looking For * A self-starter who takes initiative and ownership * Strong desire to learn continuously and improve systems * Passion for automation and efficiency * High sense of responsibility and reliability when supporting critical infrastructure * Comfortable asking questions, documenting answers, and improving processes Why Join Us * Hands-on experience with real-world AWS and hybrid infrastructure * Opportunity to grow technical depth and system ownership * Supportive team environment with room for learning and advancement * Flexibility for the right candidate (local preferred, remote considered)
