Compliance Analyst
A.N. Deringer, Inc.
• Reviews and analyzes customs forms CF 28 (Request for Information) and CF 29 (Notice of Action) • Conducts entry audit, and runs reports to determine the full scope of the issue covered by the CF28/CF29 • Identifies other clients who may be affected • Generates and analyzes ACE data reports and internal system reports related to customs compliance and regulations • Proactively identifies errors in entries and compliance issues through reporting and analytics, proposes corrections and process improvements • Works with Deringer’s operations team and auditors to address the issues and implement preventive procedures • Collaborates with corporate/regional auditors and conducts internal audits to assess customs compliance and regulations • Collaborates with Regulatory Affairs to develop and implement trade and compliance procedures • Evaluates and analyzes Free Trade Agreements for validity • Conducts FTA eligibility analysis • Provides recommendations for improvement and cost savings initiatives • Identifies and mitigates compliance related risks
Job Requirements
- Licensed Customs Broker
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum five years of industry related experience
- Previous technical/compliance background and language skills are a plus
- Advanced HTS classification experience
- Strong customer service skill set preferred
- Intermediate or advanced skill in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft office products (Excel, Word, Power Point)
- Strong analytical skills including ability to analyze and summarize large sets of complex data
- Strong communication skills including writing skills
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities

• As the Director of Compliance (blend of Customs Compliance and Account Management), you will manage a remote-first team that supports a network of licensed customs broker partners and ABI users throughout the US and Canada to derive value from the platform. • Act as a knowledge leader in customs compliance as an escalation point for Internal Stakeholders: Operations, Customer Success, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Product and Engineering. • Supervise a team of Broker Partner Success (BPS) and Post-Entry Analysts remotely including coordination of weekend, holiday, and ongoing time zone coverage plans to support business continuity across the US and Canada. • Support pre- and post-entry activity including but not limited to, liaising with importers and broker partners for timely and accurate clearance, exception management audits, invoice/statement escalations, CBP/CBSA requests, and special projects such as tariff planning. • Manage PSCs/Protests tracking in the US and Corrections/Adjustments in Canada. • Ongoing (weekly, biweekly, monthly) meetings with the broker partners and ABI users. • Other duties that may arise through the normal course of business.
