• A Bid Manager is responsible for the preparation of high-quality proposals in alignment with industry, regional and national sales strategies, themes and pricing, and the promotion of the NRI ANZ brand in alignment with current capabilities, experience and NRI ANZ go to market strategies. • The Bid Manager role is critical to winning new business for the company and ensures that proposals developed on behalf of the organisation are completed and reviewed appropriately by NRI ANZ Operations, Regional Management and Solutions, as well as the relevant technical, commercial and legal teams. • The Bid Manager will lead, manage, and deliver high-quality, compliant, and competitive end-to-end bids, proposals, and RFPs (Request for Proposals) for our multiple lines of business. • The Bid Manager will serve as the central hub driving the bid process—coordinating virtual, cross-functional teams of Sales Leads, Solution Architects, Legal experts, and Executives across various regions to secure major IT contracts and managed services agreements. • The Bid Manager will operate in accordance with the approved Sales and Bid Management processes, to ensure consistency in terms of the quality of proposals delivered. • Work with Program and Sales manager in developing win strategy, based on the client requirements, that leads into proposal development. • Produce the consolidated proposal document, including presentations as required. • Obtain appropriate sign-off for solutions and pricing in line with the Sales Process. • Manage, coach and advise the due bid team, ensuring all issues are dealt with promptly. • Develop and maintain NRI ANZ’s collateral and bid/solution resources. • Identification of resource requirements for proposal preparation. • Bid planning, including the development of project plans / schedules to manage effort across multiple resources (where required). • Preparation of the proposal ‘skeleton’, incorporating first darft text to sections where appropriate. • Principal point of contact for progress and coordination of the written proposal. • Coordination of regular bid team meetings and reporting to the Director of Operations and the relevant Industry and Account Director on progress. • Act in an advisory / supportive capacity to all contributors and stakeholders of the proposal. • Manage publishing activities of the final proposal in the company intranet. • Facilitate discussions on technical (delivery) and commercial (pricing) assumptions to ensure all have been captured appropriately. • Review and edit contributions to the proposal for consistency and quality, also ensuring relevant technical, commercial and legal aspects of the proposal have been covered by the appropriate specialist(s). • Plan and coordinate formal (and informal) review points during the proposal preparation. • Ensure proper application of NRI ANZ methodologies and frameworks where explicitly referenced. • Work with the other bid managers to encourage knowledge sharing and support. • Continuously work towards improving the company’s win rate for all proposals and bids.
Job Requirements
- At least 7 years bid management.
- Experience responding tenders, RFI’s RFPS and proposal development
- Preferable experience with managing bids for Managed Services, ERP, CRM, SaaS solutions
- Experienced in Virtual Team Leadership: Facilitate remote kick-off meetings, storyboarding sessions, and progress check-ins with multi-disciplinary technical and sales teams
- Some project management experience.
- Participate closely in large-scale and complicated presales cases to ensure delivery feasibility
- Conducts presentations and demonstrations to prospects
- Higher Diploma / Degree in Computer Science / Information Technology, or related disciplines
- Strong analytical, written, communication, presentation skills and consulting skills that enable the individual to take a leadership role within their assigned opportunities
- Ability to effectively work autonomously as well as within a team
- High level of attention to detail and presentation, ability to carefully interpret instructions, respond quickly to changing requirements and remain calm in high pressure situations
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Proficient user of MS Office Suite
- AI experience preferable, not essential
- Autonomy, Ability to operate with high degrees of independence and initiative despite working physically detached from the core onshore sales unit.
