Role Description Lumos is looking for a full-time OSP Project Engineer! If you’re an experienced FTTH design & construction engineering professional who’s excited for a fast-paced experience, ready to help us grow, and ready to recommend process changes that ensure we’re harnessing our technology to the best of our ability while broadening our ability to set up and maintain our service, we want to hear from you! As an OSP Project Engineer, you’ll: - Plan & prepare drawings for construction of new, overhead, or underground links, cables, & conduits. - Obtain optimum and economical utilization of communications facilities. - Select the most cost beneficial route for all lines and equipment for projects. - Ensure that our network expands throughout the regions we’re privileged to serve. Qualifications - Excellent interpersonal skills, as well as written and verbal communication skills. - Demonstrated project management experience. - Strong knowledge of OSHA rules, site safety, National Electric Safety Code (NESC) requirements, and associated construction and telecommunications federal and local regulations. - Proficient in MS Office; able to create reports, presentations, and project documentation. - Able to respond promptly, manage multiple tasks & customer needs, and prioritize progress toward deadlines in a fast-paced environment. - Working knowledge of all aspects of company processes including but limited to: - OSP construction; - Site preparation and permitting; - OSP testing and acceptance standards; - Creating design for local L2 and Transport architecture; - Google Earth and various fiber mapping platforms. Requirements - 5+ years’ technical experience working in OSP Engineering, Construction, or Operations. - High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree preferred. - Proactive, independent, and collaborative - takes initiative to keep on-task and on-target. - Fiber and telecommunications industry experience is essential, with a strong understanding of industry standards, technologies, & processes critical for success in the role. Role Description The Engineer is responsible for designing, programming, installing, and testing SCADA and plant control systems for solar, solar and storage, and other hybrid plants.
