Role Description Symbotic is seeking a Buyer to source and procure spares and Recommended Spare Parts List (RSPL) components across the Symbotic system. This role partners closely with Planning and internal stakeholders to align procurement strategy with demand, builds and manages key supplier relationships, and drives cost savings through vendor consolidation, negotiation, and strategic sourcing. The ideal candidate brings strong SAP/MRP proficiency and data analysis skills to inform purchasing decisions and proactively manage material availability and supply risk. What you'll do: - Source and purchase Spares & RSPL components, partnering with internal stakeholders to procure against accurate demand and deliver stakeholder value. - Build and maintain supplier relationships within category, driving cost savings and high fill rates across the product catalogue. - Partner with Planning to align procurement strategy with business needs. - Use SAP and planning tools to analyze inventory, order patterns, and sales data to inform strategic purchasing decisions and identify cost-saving opportunities (vendor consolidation, contract negotiation, supplier selection). - Identify and mitigate risks related to delivery, quality, cost, and performance; escalate with recommended resolutions. - Report on material status, including expedited/late orders, and resolve shortages or problem parts. - Maintain accurate purchasing data and planning parameters to support MPS/MRP processes. - Lead bid package development and manage RFQ processes. - Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve purchasing issues (quality, scheduling, pricing) and ensure internal/external service levels are met. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred, or equivalent work experience. - Minimum 3 years of procurement experience. - Minimum 3 years of experience with MRP systems; SAP preferred for PR/PO generation. - Experience with relevant commodities (conveyors, lifts, robotics, automation controls, steel, material handling systems) and familiarity with the related supply base. - Advanced Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP); experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) preferred. Requirements - Up to 10% of travel may be required. - Employees must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations. The base range for this position in the posted location is $71,000.00 - $97,900.00 however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
