HVDC Valve Cooling & Auxiliary Systems Commissioning Engineer

• Lead and execute the testing and commissioning of the HVDC Valve Cooling and Mechanical and Building Services Systems. • Liaise with Engineering and PM team for timely issuance of data required for preparation of site works (specs, designs, BOQ, material lists, …). • Review Valve Cooling Sub-system & Auxiliary System architecture and drawings. • Check the interfaces between these systems and 3rd party systems including GEV eLumina HVDC Control. • Prepare and maintain commissioning documentation like Program, Procedures, ITPs, Checklists etc. for HVDC Valve Cooling & Auxiliary Systems. • Scheduling, preparing staffing plans, manage site team mobilization and track actuals versus plan for this scope. • Perform, manage and support functional testing of Building Systems (BMS), Mechanical Auxiliary Systems and HVDC Valve Cooling System. • Reporting on regular basis to the Site Commissioning Manager and be the first point of contact for testing and commissioning of HVDC Valve Cooling & Auxiliary systems scope including management of the team of commissioning engineers under this scope. • Publish test reports and follow up completion of relevant quality documentation. • Ensure all Testing & Commissioning activities are performed in accordance with safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
Job Requirements
- Completed degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics engineering, energy technology, or a comparable qualification.
- Knowledge and experience in commissioning of components such as cooling systems, HVAC, building management systems, automation systems.
- Basic knowledge in elements and interfaces of electrical substations or HVDC Systems.
- Strong health and safety mindset aligned with international standards, with the ability to identify and stop unsafe work.
- Understanding of electrical and mechanical schematics, wiring diagrams, interlocking logic and communication schemes
- Fluent in English; additional language skills are a plus.
- Willingness to work on construction sites in Germany and abroad, and optional assignments on offshore platforms.
- German driver's license class B or equivalent

• Develop Dam Safety Surveillance and Monitoring Plans, Supporting Technical Information Documents, Dam Safety Surveillance and Monitoring Reports and other technical reports as required • Participate in dam safety inspections and oversees surveillance and monitoring activities including but not limited to detailed gate inspections, penstock inspections, bathymetry surveys, topographic surveys, monument surveys, and dive inspections • Participate in Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) annual inspections, Part 12 Periodic Inspections and Comprehensive Assessments, Potential Failure Modes Analysis, and Risk Analysis • Review surveillance and monitoring data in a timely fashion and follow up as necessary to address potential and/or real time issues and ensure the safety of dams • Assist in planning and oversight of small civil construction projects to ensure the design intent is met and the project is constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications • Conduct engineering analyses and develop designs for minor repair and remediation projects • Coordinate and participate in meetings, calls, and project inspections with the FERC and other regulatory agencies to ensure regulatory compliance • Assist with periodic dam safety training for Operations Staff • Review Public Safety Plans and Emergency Action Plans and support these activities as required • Respond to and assist operations personnel with dam safety issues and/or emergencies at projects • Assist with program enhancement projects to help drive continuous improvement
• Responsible for growing FPGA market share in cooperation with FAE and sales team • Observing and analyzing market trends and adapting the manufacturer’s portfolio • Implement & execute EMEA supplier strategy and programs within the local region • Summarize and drive regular business updates with the supplier • Help development Engineers select the right FPGA technologies and components • Involved in various development projects of customers • Preparing & conducting trainings, events, and technical meetings with customers and suppliers • Guiding technical direction/priorities based on suppliers shaping strategy and market situation
