Senior HR Manager – Global Remote Operations

• Lead day-to-day HR operations for a remote and globally distributed team • Manage employee onboarding, orientation, documentation, and offboarding processes • Maintain accurate employee records, organizational charts, HR files, contracts, and compliance documentation • Support workforce planning, succession planning, and organizational structure updates • Serve as a key point of contact for employee relations, workplace concerns, policy guidance, and HR compliance • Advise managers and employees on HR policies, performance expectations, documentation, and employee development • Coordinate with payroll, bookkeeping, finance, and benefits teams to ensure accurate HR and payroll-related processes • Support Ecuador-related HR and payroll compliance where applicable, including coordination of statutory benefits, local employment documentation, and government-mandated requirements • Lead performance review cycles, employee development initiatives, corrective action processes, and HR strategy implementation • Review, improve, and standardize HR policies, procedures, templates, and workflows • Ensure HR practices align with applicable labor, employment, payroll, tax, and data privacy requirements • Provide HR insights and reporting to support leadership decisions • Promote a positive, professional, compliant, and performance-driven remote work culture

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of proven experience as an HR Manager, Senior HR Generalist, HR Business Partner, or HR leadership professional
  • Experience supporting global, remote, or distributed teams
  • Strong knowledge of HR operations, employee relations, performance management, compliance, and HR documentation
  • Familiarity with Ecuador labor practices, payroll coordination, IESS, SRI, employment documentation, and statutory benefits is highly preferred
  • Experience integrating HR processes with payroll, bookkeeping, finance, or benefits administration
  • Strong understanding of labor, employment, payroll, and compliance practices
  • Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating with international teams
  • High attention to detail, confidentiality, and professionalism
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, Psychology, Law, or a related field
  • HR certifications such as SHRM, PHR, CIPD, or equivalent are a plus
  • Bilingual English and Spanish communication skills are highly preferred

Role Description This is a great opportunity for an experienced leader to partner with senior business leaders and use their HR and business expertise to create culture, build a winning team and drive change. In this position you will work closely with the Engineered Wood Products (EWP) product line vice president and the EWP leadership team, providing strategic guidance on organizational issues and HR solutions to accelerate business performance and effectiveness. You will lead the EWP HR team that includes nine HR business partners and two Senior HR Business Managers who support nine facilities located across five different states and two Canadian provinces.
