Title: Senior Developer Experience Engineer Location: Monett United States Job Description: At Jack Henry, we're more than a technology company, we're a force for good in financial services. We're redefining how community banks and credit unions connect with the people they serve. Our mission is rooted in people inspired innovation, empowering financial institutions to deliver seamless, secure, and human centered experiences. We deliver cutting-edge solutions that are paving the way for the next generation of digital banking and payments, but our true impact begins with our associates. If you're ready to help transform an industry and grow with a company that values purpose, collaboration, and excellence then we'd love to meet you. We're seeking a Senior Developer Experience Engineer to join the team at a pivotal moment in our growth. As our Jack Henry developer documentation currently serves thousands of developers, it has become one of the most important touchpoints between Jack Henry and the developers who depend on us. This role exists to own that touchpoint. You'll treat Jack Henry's developer documentation as a product: benchmarking our developer experience against industry leaders, shipping interactive docs and content infrastructure. You'll partner closely with our engineers, SDK teams, and product partners to shape the strategy - and you'll write the code that brings the content to life. You'll join our Developer Relations team as a key partner with real influence on the strategy, tools, and culture we build together. The team is small and fast-moving, and we're looking for someone who's excited about that kind of ownership. This is the right role for a senior engineer to own docs-as-code and infrastructure, with strategic latitude, in an already mature developer-facing platform. This is a remote position and candidates must live within approximately a 70-mile radius of our office locations in Allen, TX; Lenexa, KS; Springfield, MO; Monett, MO; Louisville, KY; Cedar Falls, IA; Birmingham, AL; or Charlotte, NC. This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship and support. Please do not apply if at any time you will need immigration support now or in the future (i.e., H-1B, PERM). All positions, regardless of location, may require an onsite interview or in-person onboarding requirement to verify your identity. What you'll be responsible for: - Develop and enhance the Jack Henry Developer Relations Portal following engineering best practices and standards. - Lead the design, planning, and delivery of new features, breaking work into clear, manageable tasks for the team. - Ensure reliability, scalability, performance, and quality are built into all development efforts. - Represent the team in technical discussions and decision-making (e.g., discovery sessions). - Troubleshoot and resolve issues across release pipelines and production environments. - Own the developer documentation platform end-to-end, including architecture, UX, and roadmap, benchmarking against industry standards. - Design and deliver interactive, accessible documentation experiences (e.g., code samples, API explorers, tutorials, and videos). - Build and maintain templates, tools, and contribution guides to enable scalable documentation creation across teams. - Produce high-impact developer content, including guides, tutorials, and video walkthroughs. - Manage and continuously improve documentation infrastructure (site generation, CI/CD, previews, search, and analytics). - Leverage modern agentic coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor) to accelerate development and documentation workflows. - Establish and maintain documentation processes, including style guidelines, contribution workflows, review standards, and audit practices. - May perform other job duties as assigned. What you'll need to have: - A minimum of 6 years of experience in documentation, developer experience, or developer education roles for a developer audience - Demonstrated ability to organize and structure complex technical content (information architecture/content modeling) - Experience improving developer documentation for usability, clarity, and navigation - Hands-on use of AI coding tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) in day-to-day workflows - Experience creating both written documentation and video/screencast content for technical audiences What would be nice for you to have: - Docs-as-code experience: comfort opening PRs against the docs platform itself - modifying site generators, CI workflows, content tooling, and search infrastructure - not just authoring Markdown. - Strategic and audit thinking: experience benchmarking documentation, identifying systemic gaps, and producing actionable roadmaps - not just executing the next ticket - Familiarity with OpenAPI specifications or interactive API documentation - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. - Previous experience developing technical documentation for engineers or developers. - Proficiency with Web Components. - Familiarity with Polymer or Lit. - Solid understanding of security, API design, design patterns, and browser environment. - Experience with front-end build systems such as webpack or rollup. - Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) systems. - Experience tracing a request through the network stack. - Experience with SSOs, Plugins, or APIs. - Experience implementing OAuth2/OpenID Connect. - Experience supporting an application in production. If you got this far, we hope you're feeling excited about this opportunity. Even if you don't feel you meet every single requirement on this posting, we still encourage you to apply. We're looking for passionate, driven individuals who align with our mission and can bring unique perspectives to our team. Why Jack Henry? At Jack Henry, we live by the motto: "Do the right thing, do whatever it takes, and have fun." It's more than a tagline, it's the foundation of our culture. That's why we offer comprehensive benefits designed to support your physical, mental, and financial health so you can thrive both personally and professionally. Our strategy focuses on delivering secure data access, mitigating fraud, and enabling seamless integration. Empowering our teams to build innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of accountholders. We're proud to foster an environment where inclusion, sustainability, and community impact are more than values, they're how we operate. Visit our Corporate Sustainability site to learn more about our culture and commitment to our people, customers, community, environment, and shareholders. Equal Employment Opportunity At Jack Henry, we know we are better together. We value, respect, and protect the uniqueness each of us brings. Innovation flourishes by including all voices and makes our business - and our society - stronger. Jack Henry is an equal opportunity employer and we are committed to providing equal opportunity in all of our employment practices, including selection, hiring, performance management, promotion, transfer, compensation, benefits, education, training, social, and recreational activities to all persons regardless of race, religious creed, color, national origin, ancestry, physical disability, mental disability, genetic information, pregnancy, marital status, sex, gender, gender identity, gender expression, age, sexual orientation, and military and veteran status, or any other protected status protected by local, state or federal law. Role Description We are hiring a Senior Developer Advocate, North America to be the technical face of VictoriaMetrics in the NA observability community — on HackerNews, in CNCF working groups, on KubeCon and other conference stages, and in the Slack and Discord channels where SREs and platform teams make solution decisions. This is a hands-on, technically credible role: you will ship code, write deep technical content, speak at conferences, and influence our product roadmap with what you hear from the community. You will work directly with our founders, engineering team, dev rel and marketing team, and you will have meaningful autonomy to shape how VictoriaMetrics shows up in the North American developer community. What You Will Do - Technical content and code (≈40%) - Write deep-dive technical blog posts - Build and maintain reference architectures, demo repositories, and working examples on GitHub. - Contribute small fixes, docs PRs, and integration improvements to VictoriaMetrics, VictoriaTraces, VictoriaLogs, and our overall stack. - Produce audio-visual content alongside your colleagues; screencasts, conference recordings, podcast appearances, technical interviews. - Community engagement and advocacy (≈30%) - Maintain a credible, non-promotional presence on HackerNews, Reddit (r/devops, r/sre, r/kubernetes, r/grafana), CNCF Slack, the Prometheus and Grafana community channels, X/LinkedIn, and the Slack/Discord communities where observability conversations happen. - Answer technical questions, weigh in substantively on comparison threads, and help users debug real problems. - Partner with our Marketing Manager to develop online spaces, social presence, and partner programs that encourage peer support around our open-source projects. - Speaking and events (≈20%) - Submit CFPs to and speak at North American conferences and meetups per year. - Run online workshops, office hours, technical training, and developer-day style events. - Represent VictoriaMetrics on podcasts, panels, and industry roundtables. - Feedback loop and product influence (≈10%) - Synthesize community signal into concrete, actionable input for engineering and product leadership. - Advocate internally for feature, documentation, and DX improvements based on what you hear from users. - Coordinate with our cross functional leads and counterparts in marketing for alignment and cohesion. Qualifications - 5+ years in a developer-facing role — developer advocacy, evangelism, developer experience, or hands-on SRE / observability engineering with substantial public output. - Production experience with at least two of: Prometheus, VictoriaMetrics, Thanos, Cortex, Mimir, InfluxDB, OpenTelemetry, Grafana, Loki, or Tempo. - Comfortable reading and writing Go. You should be able to file substantive issues against VictoriaMetrics, read the source to answer your own questions, and contribute small PRs. - Fluency with PromQL and/or MetricsQL — you can debug a slow query, not just write one. - Hands-on Kubernetes experience: Helm charts, operators, kubectl, the realities of running stateful workloads in production. - Demonstrable public footprint: personal blog, conference talks, OSS contributions, or a substantial GitHub presence. - Excellent written and verbal communication. Comfortable presenting to a room of skeptical engineers. - Experience speaking at technical conferences; ideally CNCF or observability-focused (KubeCon, SREcon, and regional CNCF meetups). Preferred Qualifications - Experience with VictoriaMetrics or similar open source monitoring and observability tools. - Previous experience in a user/customer-facing role. What We Offer - Competitive salary benchmarked against North American market data. - Fully remote work, flexible hours, and a small, senior team that respects async work. - Support for your professional and personal growth: you will work directly with our founders, marketing team, and our design and engineering teams; your community feedback shapes the roadmap. - Autonomy and active support for initiative you bring: you decide where to spend your time within the strategic priorities we set together. - A platform with 1B+ downloads and Fortune 500 customers — the audience is already there. - The chance to make a real impact on our technology and user community. Interview Process - Introductory Video Call - Interview with hiring manager & Head of DevRel - Interview with Chief Marketing Leader - Interview / technical interview with Founders & team members - Offer: Embark on your journey with VictoriaMetrics
