Job Description

Junior Project Manager

RetailNext

Role Description We're looking for a Junior Project Manager to support our deployment projects and grow into a confident, independent project manager within our PMO. This role sits at the heart of how RetailNext delivers for customers — you'll own the administrative and coordination work for live deployments while building the judgment and process knowledge that comes with running projects end-to-end. The right person is organized, detail-driven, and genuinely eager to learn. You're comfortable owning the parts of a project you can run yourself, you ask good questions when you're not sure, and you escalate cleanly when a customer conversation needs a more experienced hand. You take responsibility for what's on your plate and you communicate honestly about where you need support. This is a development role with a real growth path. You'll start with supervised onboarding, take on routine deployments independently by months 4–8, and expand your project portfolio across your first year. The PMO is structured to support your growth into Project Manager and Senior Project Manager seats over time. Qualifications - 1–2 years of project management, coordination, or customer service experience - Strong organizational skills and sharp attention to detail - Excellent written and verbal communication - Genuine eagerness to learn PM expertise and grow under mentorship - Ability to work effectively with guidance while building independence - Basic understanding of deployment processes, retail technology, or related business processes Requirements - Manage concurrent deployment projects with mentor guidance, gradually taking on more autonomy as you build proficiency - Execute the full deployment lifecycle following established RetailNext processes, learning where and how to adapt as situations require - Serve as the primary point of contact for lower-complexity customer accounts, holding regular communication and clear expectations - Handle routine customer communications directly and escalate more complex discussions to senior team members - Manage project budgets, coordinate resources, and track progress against milestones with a sense of urgency - Own project documentation end-to-end — keep records current, organized, and clean enough that any teammate can pick up where you left off - Complete deployment checklists and apply quality and compliance standards as you learn them - Generate accurate project quotes using established pricing models and customer requirements - Coordinate vendor communications, scheduling, and on-the-ground logistics independently - Manage RMA processes, equipment returns, deployment handovers, and shipping/delivery tracking - Prepare status reports, dashboards, and project summaries for internal and external stakeholders - Identify and categorize deployment challenges with input from senior PMs, escalating cleanly where needed - Develop troubleshooting instincts for routine issues and learn the escalation patterns for the harder ones - Shadow Senior PMs on complex deployments to observe how more advanced project management works in practice - Adhere to PMO SLAs across customer responses, quote delivery, shipping coordination, SmartOps updates, and internal communication - Meet or exceed PMO KPIs while contributing to broader team performance goals - Attend training on retail technology solutions, installation procedures, and industry best practices - Document your learnings and contribute to the team's knowledge management initiatives - Participate in project planning meetings and contribute to timeline development and risk assessment - Contribute to process improvement initiatives and help shape training materials for future hires Benefits - Structured mentorship from senior PMs and PMO leadership — you'll shadow real deployments, learn the full playbook, and get coached as you take on more ownership - A clear, milestone-based development path — from supervised onboarding in your first 3 months to running routine deployments independently by month 12, with visible scope growth at each stage - A visible role at the heart of customer success — deployments are where RetailNext meets the customer, and your work directly shapes whether they thrive on our platform - Monthly Recharge Day - Holiday Exchange Program - Best Self Benefit Program - Medical Insurance - Work from Anywhere up to 90 days
