Tax Manager

• Deliver a full range of tax services in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. • Provide tax planning, tax research, and review of complex income tax returns. • Manage client tax requirements and overall client relationships. • Supervise seniors and staff, helping ensure work is properly allocated and completed accurately and on time. • Serve as a technical resource for staff and assist with training, coaching, and mentorship. • Collaborate with Partners, managers, staff, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality client service. • Take ownership of filing deadlines, planning opportunities, and updates related to tax law changes. • Prepare tax research memorandums, client letters, and other written communications. • Support clients across tax, accounting, real estate, multi-state taxation, corporate taxation, and international matters. • Maintain the firm’s high standards of quality, accuracy, professionalism, and client service.
Job Requirements
- Certified Public Accounting (CPA) required.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or a related field preferred.
- Senior-level public accounting tax experience required.
- Strong tax expertise, including deep technical tax knowledge.
- Willingness to relocate to New York if not already local.
- Experience with multi-state taxation, corporate taxation, and real estate taxation.
- Exposure to international taxation preferred.
- Strong accounting fundamentals and broad exposure across accounting disciplines.
- Ability to review work independently and manage tax engagements with minimal supervision.
- Strong writing skills, including tax research memos and client correspondence.
- Detail-oriented, analytical, proactive, and self-directed.
- Strong sense of ownership over client relationships and deliverables.
- Growth mindset and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, client-service environment.
- Experience with ProSystem fx, BNA Tax Planner, CCH Tax Research Manager, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook preferred.
- Experience in small and mid-sized accounting firms are strongly preferred.
