Role Description The Senior Compliance Specialist is responsible for overseeing the state authorization process for multiple programs, working with various state regulatory agencies, and assisting with other program and organizational compliance-related initiatives and projects. - Overseeing research initiatives, the data collection process, and the compilation of state applications for the Authority to Operate new and existing programs at an advanced level - Interfacing with 50+ state jurisdictions, University partners, and internal stakeholders to provide annual reporting data, annual registrations, and compliance information - Drafting, reviewing, and interpreting state applications, reports, and responses - Manage, prioritize, and complete multiple complex projects simultaneously in an efficient and timely manner - Identifying and interpreting federal and state regulations relevant to 2U, our University partners, and the education industry - Assisting with the review, development, and drafting of organizational policies and procedures - Assisting management with defining compliance processes and developing standard operating procedures - Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with state higher education personnel, University partners, and internal stakeholders - Creating budgets to achieve and maintain all required regulatory authorizations - Facilitating the training process for new Compliance Specialists - Serving as a leader and resource to other team members in completing state authorization tasks - Problem-solving complex state authorization related or internal challenges - Working with other functional areas within the Compliance Department on special projects, as needed Qualifications - Master’s degree in public administration, public policy, or legal studies preferred; Bachelor’s degree required - Previous work experience with University and/or federal, state or local regulatory authorities required - Knowledge of federal and state laws affecting the education industry - Experience developing and sustaining collaborative relationships with University administrative personnel and federal, state, and local regulators - Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, manage, prioritize, and complete multiple complex projects simultaneously - Ability to meet strict deadlines - Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office, inclusive of Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Requirements - Experience reviewing and interpreting federal, state, and Board of Nursing regulations preferred - High attention to detail - Demonstrated problem-solving skills - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Excellent legal research and writing skills - Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate in a courteous, tactful, and concise manner - Excellent organization skills - Focused on achieving defined results, and exceeding goals and objectives - Ability to motivate others - Ability to work with a diverse team in a fast-paced environment - Demonstrated self-initiative Benefits - Comprehensive benefits (unique per country) and excellent work/life balance - Full-time, U.S. benefits include: - Medical, dental, and vision coverage - Life insurance, disability, and 401(k) employer match - Free snacks and drinks in-office - Generous paid holidays and leave policies, including unlimited PTO - Additional time off benefits include: volunteer days, parental leave, and a company-wide winter break - The anticipated base salary range for this role is ($81,300 - $86,200), with potential bonus eligibility.
