Role Description This is a remote position. Are you an experienced accounting professional with a tax background, ready to grow into a leadership role as we build our US tax practice? BooksTime is looking for an experienced, tax-savvy accountant who is excited about leadership, technology, and strong client relationships. This is a unique opportunity to start by doing the high-level senior accounting work you already do well and then, little by little, grow into a Senior Tax Manager role, taking ownership of our US tax engagements and eventually helping lead the tax practice as it scales. If you're looking for meaningful work, real career growth, flexibility, and the chance to help shape a tax practice from the ground up, we'd love to hear from you. - A Clear Path into Tax Leadership - High-Impact Work - Modern Accounting Environment - Variety & Continuous Learning - Flexible Remote Culture Qualifications - Active US CPA (or EA) — strongly preferred for a role that grows into signing returns - Several years of US tax experience (individual and business returns) - Senior accounting leadership: Controller, Accounting Manager, CAS, or public accounting - Experience managing multiple clients or entities and mentoring teams - Experience with cloud-based accounting and professional tax Requirements What You'll Do: - Leading accounting relationships for a portfolio of clients as a trusted advisor - Reviewing and analyzing financial statements and serving as a high-level resource for complex accounting issues - Supporting and mentoring our international bookkeeping team - Preparing and reviewing US tax returns (individual and business) alongside our existing tax resources - Collaborating on internal process, technology, and efficiency initiatives As you grow into the Senior Tax Manager role, you'll take on: - Ownership of review and sign-off on US federal and state returns (1040, 1120, 1120-S, 1065, and 990 as the practice grows) - Building a team of tax preparers, including our offshore staff in the Philippines - Setting quality control, workflows, and tax-season capacity planning - Acting as a tax advisor on planning and strategy for SME - Partnering with ownership to shape service lines and grow the practice Benefits - 100% remote - Full-time and part-time opportunities available - Schedules are flexible outside recurring collaboration windows with our international team. Team collaboration hours generally occur several mornings per week around 9:00–11:00 a.m. ET - A defined growth path from senior accountant work into Senior Tax Manager - Simple IRA with employer matching after 2 years - PTO for eligible employees - Pay: $45.00-$65.00 per hour, based on experience, skills, and work location.
