This role is crucial for keeping operations moving smoothly by: - Conducting high-volume outbound calls to insurance companies to open up and initiate new legal claims. - Contacting clients proactively to gather missing information, documentation, and specific details required to successfully kickstart their claims. - Maintaining clear, meticulous, and accurate records of all communications, follow-ups, and claim statuses within the firm’s tracking systems. - Navigating insurance protocols efficiently to minimize delays in the claim-opening process. - Providing a supportive, professional, and clear communication experience for clients during the intake phase. - Balancing phone-heavy tasks with timely administrative follow-ups to ensure no claim stalls in the initial stage. Qualifications - 1-2+ years of experience in customer service, call center environments, telephonic intake, or administrative support (legal or insurance background is a major plus). - Proven track record of high reliability, excellent attendance, and strong time management. - Comfort and confidence in handling consistent outbound phone calls throughout the workday. - Fluency in Spanish and English (spoken and written). - Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple calls and tasks simultaneously. - Experience using CloudLex, Filevine, Clio, or similar legal case management systems. Role Description Manage a caseload of General Liability Claims (premises and construction defect) in multiple states. - Manage new loss assignments, reassignments and proper, timely reserve setting. - Perform coverage analysis, responsibilities to defend and/or indemnify, and choice of law. - Identify issues that need to be investigated and resolved, utilizing methods focused on risk transfer and resolutions for the best outcome. - Draft complex coverage position letters, including reservation of rights, disclaimers, and responses to rebuttal letters. - Develop legal strategy with counsel and manage General Liability litigation consistent with litigation guidelines, including both Coverage Counsel and Defense Counsel. - Identify appropriate cases for trial and complete pre-trial reports and trial activities. - Utilize artificial intelligence tools and resources (e.g. generative AI). You will report to a Claim Manager. Qualifications - 5+ years of litigated General Liability claim handling experience with demonstrated roles of increased responsibility and exposure to multiple jurisdictions. - Technical background desired with an emphasis on coverage issue identification and policy interpretation. - In-depth knowledge of liability policy language and coverage interpretation. - Work experience in a regulated environment and ability to ensure compliance with company procedures. - College degree. - Florida Adjusting license required. - You must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring immigration sponsorship now or in the future. • Handle lost time and medical only claim assignments. • Maintain a claim inventory as deemed appropriate by management, approximately 50 open claims at any given time. • Verify, research evaluate and make recommendations on appropriate coverage on each claim, using discretionary judgment. • Make timely contact with members, injured workers, agents, providers, attorneys, etc. • Investigate claim with phone interviews/emails and obtain appropriate documentation. • Evaluate exposure and adjust reserves as required. • Conclude claim processing in accordance with company standards. • Meet with members, agents, injured workers, attorneys, etc. as deemed necessary. • Provide training and act as a mentor for members and other claims personnel. • Complete special projects as assigned by the Claims Leader. • Travel to annual workers compensation conference and/or attend educational seminars. • Pursues a course of personal, professional development.
