Our broad scope of products and services keep our environment interesting and challenging with a culture focused on success.** __**Job Summary**__ The SAP Manager will serve as the company’s primary point of contact and internal owner for SAP ECC 6. This role requires broad understanding of how ERP systems function across multiple business areas, how core SAP modules interact, and how upstream and downstream processes integrate. The SAP Manager will act as the liaison between business users, internal leadership, IT, Finance, Operations, and external SAP support partners to ensure SAP issues are properly prioritized, communicated, resolved, and documented.

Job Requirements

  • __**Essential Functions**__
  • The SAP Manager will be responsible for coordinating day-to-day SAP support across the company, with emphasis on understanding how Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, Sales, and related functions work together within the ERP environment.
  • While this role should be able to support Finance-related processes, the primary focus is on issue coordination, business process understanding, cross-functional impact assessment, and effective management of SAP support across modules.
  • This person will serve as the first point of contact for all SAP-related questions, incidents, enhancement requests, and business process issues.
  • They will review incoming tickets, determine business impact, identify whether the issue can be resolved internally, and coordinate with third-party SAP support when external assistance is required.
  • The SAP Manager will be responsible for communicating with business users to understand issues, gather requirements, clarify process gaps, and translate business needs into SAP support requests.
  • They will manage ticket prioritization, follow up on open items, validate resolutions, coordinate testing, and ensure users are informed of status and next steps.
  • __**Additional Responsibilities**__
  • Maintain ownership of SAP issue triage and escalation processes.
  • Serve as the liaison between the business and third-party SAP support provider.
  • Support Finance-related SAP activities as needed, including coordination around key close and reporting periods.
  • Coordinate SAP support across Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, Sales, and other business areas as needed.
  • Document recurring SAP issues, resolutions, workarounds, process gaps, and escalation procedures.
  • Monitor open SAP tickets and ensure timely resolution based on business priority.
  • Assist with SAP testing for fixes, enhancements, upgrades, interfaces, and process changes.
  • Partner with business and functional leaders to improve SAP processes, resolve cross-functional issues, and reduce recurring problems.
  • Coordinate SAP reporting needs, including standard reports, custom reports, variants, and data extracts.
  • Ensure proper documentation of SAP processes, controls, access changes, and support procedures.
  • Support audit requests related to SAP transactions, user access, change activity, and financial reporting.
  • Work with third-party SAP consultants to ensure business requirements are clearly communicated and delivered.
  • __**Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities**__
  • Strong hands-on experience with SAP ECC 6.
  • Broad SAP or ERP background with understanding of how key business functions and modules work together.
  • Experience supporting business processes within an ERP environment, including understanding of module dependencies, transaction flow, reporting, and integrations.
  • Ability to triage SAP issues across multiple business areas and understand downstream impacts across modules and integrated processes.
  • Experience managing SAP tickets, user support, issue resolution, and third-party escalations.
  • Understanding of SAP user roles and responsibilities
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work with both technical and non-technical users.
  • Ability to translate business issues into clear SAP support requirements.
  • Working knowledge of Finance processes in SAP sufficient to coordinate support and business needs, without requiring deep specialization in Finance alone.
  • Strong documentation, follow-up, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
  • __**Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities**__
  • Experience working as the sole or primary SAP point of contact within an organization.
  • Experience coordinating with external SAP support providers or managed service partners.
  • Knowledge of SAP security, access controls, and segregation of duties concepts.
  • Experience with SAP interfaces, batch jobs, reporting, and recurring production support issues.
  • Prior experience in manufacturing, distribution, or a similar SAP-enabled business environment.
  • __**Key Success Factors**__
  • The successful candidate must be comfortable being the internal owner of SAP support, especially in a lean environment where this role is the central point of coordination. This person should bring a broad understanding of ERP processes, how modules interact, and how business issues in one area can affect others. Strong coordination, communication, prioritization, and business process understanding are more important than deep specialization in a single module, though working knowledge of Finance processes remains important.
